Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

KnThrak: Wow, what's with most posts in most threads being under the viewing threshold? :o
A glitch.
I have a question about the beta - is it deleting mods? For example - if I download Planescape Torment via Galaxy and mod it, will the Galaxy check files without my say so and delete 'non-game' files?

I think as long as you do not auto-update you should be fine. Because when importing games to galaxy it deletes mods, but after you have it there, you should have no problem I think (except maybe for updates, not sure about that).
No guarantee ;-)

I see... Well, I doub there will be many updates for them (especially because they are already Galaxy'd), but I'll try and see. Thanks for the answer. :)
i let it scan my GOG folder i think i have 50 or 60 of the games installed, i have 344 or so and i dont think all these game could be installed on my HD
so i just install the best and after i finished them i uninstall them usually using a uninstall tool these have option to check for 'leftovers' to guarantee there are no redundant no longer needed fonts , icons, links, shortcuts, registry entries and more like that .

lots of the games that are installed were not recognized, i dont know how many game is 'some games' but i had 36 or 40 recognised from the 50 or 55 that i do have installed, but thats just a technicality i guess so i dont mind.

However for the time beiing and i guess for the future i will be using the website to order games /make transactions like i did before.

The client will be used as a handy librarry tool to manage all things except payments.

POLE7645: OK. I have two small questions.
2- I'm curious about the archievements. So far, only The Witcher 2 have them (that doesn't surprise me at all), but I wonder how you're going to add archievement to other games (and if so, which games are considered for adding archivements. I don't think you'd be able to add those with DOS games.) This one is purely for curiosity sake,
avatar
skeletonbow: Most games in the catalogue are unlikely to ever have achievements because it isn't something you would add to a game outside of the game but something that has to be built directly into the game guts, so that when certain conditions are met inside the game that match an achievement, the game engine can signal the Galaxy libraries to activate a Galaxy achievement either on your local system offline, or to your online account depending on how they happen to have implemented that. Since GOG does not own or have access to the source code of the majority of the games they sell (they're just the distributor, not the developer or publisher), they wont have any trivial way to add achievements or any other special Galaxy oriented online or offline features to games which require editing the game's source code to implement. In order for a game to have Galaxy achievements implemented will require the developer of the game to want to add that feature to their game and give GOG an update, or for them to give GOG access to their source code for the game and GOG want to add the support themselves and have the manpower resources to do the work.

In reality, I don't expect many old games to get Galaxy achievements or other such features simply due to the technical reasons I mention above making it infeasible. We'll most likely see achievements for all of the CDPR games first, and then we might see them added to certain games here that have Steam achievements on Steam for which the developer/publisher still maintains/patches/updates the game or thinks that adding such a feature might stimulate more sales of their game here. We'll also likely see brand new games (indie or otherwise) that are coming out that normally would have Steam achievements possibly implementing GOG Galaxy equivalent when they release here too.

The majority if not all of older games that are no longer actively developed and updated with bugfixes/features/etc. are probably going to stay that way forever I imagine though. Might be the odd exception but I suspect that'll be rare.

I believe Running With Scissors mentioned before that they might consider adding Galaxy features to Postal 2, but I would imagine it would be some time before they would be able to do that with their small team and workload with the new Postal 2 expansion pack and whatnot.

Ultimately though it is up to developers/publishers whether or not to support special Galaxy features in their games and update them. The only features GOG can really do anything about are generic Galaxy-client side things such as implementing an overlay, the friend chat stuff, and other things that operate independently of the games.

Hope this helps.
Sony have patented an external stat tracker than can be used to apply achievements to any game without the source code, however I doubt GOG have the resources currently to put so much time into a similar system while avoiding Sony's patents

This page : http://www.gog.com/galaxy
clearly says :
" Backup copy download
Want to backup your purchases? We get it. For all games, you can download a DRM-free backup installer that you can save to an external disk, drive or cloud. "
and feature is not marked with a (soon) as other still missing features is .

So my question is , where is the * download the "backup copy" button when in the games library in the Galaxy client ?
Not implemented yet ?
Personally I expect the Galaxy client to be able to do EVERYTHING that the old original GOG downloader can and in the same ROCK SOLID RELIABLE way ..
I find the original GOG downloader to be a *very* impressive tool / downloader , a piece of software that you can load just as many of your downloads onto as you wish and it's so reliable and it has never crashed or broken for me. So I expect nothing less from the Galaxy Client if that is to to succeed and supersede the original GOG dowload manager !

My idea for a GOG client clearly were a combined GOG download and install manager (rock solid thank you) and all the rest is merely features that is "to attract a wider , younger and more modern crowd" and / or "icing on the cake"....

It is coming and being implemented you say ? , oh! , well , I am really glad to hear that and I only write this post to make a point as to that it is poor psychology that it is not in place from the start ;) :P

My expectation to the Galaxy client is that it will be "the perfect tool" for managing , downloading and installing my DRM FREE games and that it will also ease accessibility for the less computer savvy. That you guys is trying to make a thing that will also implement a lot of community and shopping features *is* understandable since that is also part of why e.g. Steam is so popular...
Oh , well , I guess that I will just have to wait and see ;)

Choose any game from your sidebar or go to you Library, click on any games image to go to it's page. Then from the "More" dropdown choose "Download extras". You can download offline installers and all the extras for each game.
One question, in beta galaxy, Installs the DLCs or you have to do it manually

It will download/install the DLCs unless told not too.

I'm currently unable to download GOG Galaxy - I'm redirected to a 403 - Forbidden page when I click on the download link in my library. Any help?

Possibly server load, just wait for some time
hamahamahahahahahahha
This has most likely been mentioned already but just wanted to mention it just in case.

The memory usage of "GalaxyClient Helper" is extremely high. 172MB just idle. the rest of the client is just using 67MB which is more what I was expecting.

I'm not 100% sure what the helper does but the fact it's using so much memory makes the software not something that you'd want to run in the background constantly.
