Another new release, another GOG trailer that features the Steam logo but not the GOG logo. In the past, some trailers had a GOG splash screen at the end -- even that's not present in this case.
And this game comes from META Publishing, who recently had a sale here. Is it that much effort to slap the store logo on trailers before posting the games here? Is it too much to ask for GOG to enforce this?

Some publishers feature every store but GOG on their sites. Even the search bar in GOG Galaxy searches other stores, and looking things up on GOG is hidden away. Plus, other stores are advertised in the Recently Played category.
Just knock it off already. Stop shoving the competition in our faces. Have your "valued partners" show a modicum of respect by listing you alongside other stores on their sites, and in trailers on your own YouTube channel.

Is it competition? GOG isn't a threat to Steam at all. Steam is king!

I suspect it depends of when the trailer was make compared to the release on Gog. If at the time when the trailer was made a release on Gog wasn't planned, I don't think many devs go back, re-edit the trailed, just to add a Gog logo.

GOG is in no way whatsoever a "competitor" of Steam.

They are a competitor by the simple virtue that they are in the same field, as in, selling games.

Being a competitor doesn't mean that you have to have the same market share or the same weight.

Gog is lazy and lack attention to detail.
I honestly don't see how they are going to last much longer, or how they even lasted this long.
If not for their hard core base they would've been done with, but they seem to be doing their best to ignore their base and try to attract casuals. Mismanagement in everything they do.

As far as I know, you only asked for my opinion on an enemy or boss from Mortal Shell, when I get to that point. I don't see how that relates to this thread, but consider it forgotten.

So far, the only glimmer of hope has been the store search redesign.
Trailer logos are a small thing, but that's exactly why I found it so bothersome. It feels like it would hardly be an effort on GOG's part to enforce them, or on the developers' part to add them in the first place. Thankfully, many do.

Anyway, I vented. Rant over.
I can't even find the old steam logo memes to make a joke in this thread.
Thanks rubbish search engines.

Either the trailers should be devoid of mentioning the platforms/stores or it should explicitly mention the store it's being displayed on piecemeal. Having other store logos on a video displayed at a rival one is at best lazy and at worst bloody disrespectful.

If you are going to advertise the store, either watermark your vids with the appropriate one, or append it at the end. The latter if time is at a premium and you want to save time editing/encoding. It's simply not difficult - video editing software is hardly expensive nor rare to find.

While it is GOG's fault that they don't enforce it, it's also not their fault that their clients are too lazy to do things right. Both parties do need to do better imo.

I think that there's something far more important than the GOG logo on trailers. That is a link to GOG on the game's website. Many, many times I have seen game websites that have a link to the game on Steam but no link to GOG even though the game is also available for sale on GOG. That is costing GOG sales!
