imma on vacay at teh moment and its in deepest, darkest, most rural of US

Think... hmmm... people-will-eat-my-hair rural. they will make bongos from my non-buttocks

Anyhoohar, ive bare lee been online because of this (shitty wifi an' cellular connexion. Plus... uuuh, y'know, vacaying with friends then).

aside from losing like 30 rep points despite bare lee being online (2 posts, dude. Lulz), i notice even tho teh connexion is shitty most websites actual lee load, albeit slow lee. Gogie doesnt! It either dies beforehand or, like, loads text not teh graphix and uuuh looks borked as fuck then

Long story short (too late), i didnt realize that as well as teh forum being apparent lee impossibull for newer gogie staff to change 'n' adapt, its also really inefficient lee coded in general?

expand on this if you also! want to bitch

I think I lost some brain cells trying to read that.
Whatever, I really hope you won't get eaten by redneck cannibals in West Virginia or whichever godforsaken place it is you're now in.
Stay safe! Gogie forum needs your special posts.

dont need my help, son; you were always abit simple
Hmmm... Maybe it could help to use one of those browsers or extensions which block certain scripts, adds, third-party cookies and all that jazz. Not really sure if it'd work though, most probably these forums were coded with punch cards and cardboard computers.

Anyway, why would you want to access a dark place if you're already vacationing in one?

P.S: Watch out for the ticks!

I am away (work/hols) and would like to buy wartile whilst it is discounted and with soundtrack. Cost due to ip currency decision is 10-20% more just for being abroad. Checked with help:

Currencies are assigned based on the currently used IP address.
I am afraid that this limitation can not be bypassed.

Well done GOG, one lost sale, not just now but permanently never going to buy this from you.

When they'll replace the forum, they will replace it with a slow, unusable, javascript-ridden, "modern web design" thing immediately eating like 16 gigabytes of your RAM. Just look at what they did with the main page and the game pages last year. A GOG redesign is to be feared, not to be hoped for.

True enough. There are a few forum sites online that have left the coding light enough to be pleasant to load, but most sites are so heavy on client-side javascript trash that they aren't worth visiting. A redesign would likely follow "modern" design trends.

That being said, this forum is long overdue for a complete do-over, some full-time strong moderation and a choice number of members here perma-banned. I won't hold my breath, it's more likely to be completely shut down than remade at this point.

+1 for fairfox. Her topic is not worthy of downrepping.
I've recently hit my monthly soft cap, and am now restricted to 24 kbps.
OP is spot on. Loading is extremely slow. Can't load more than one tab at a time.
All other tabs either don't load at all, or load without much content in it.

I'm used to the soft cap, but GOG's forum is a very slow site in comparison.
Almost comparable to Facebook..though FB has the mobile site to compensate.

Good show on the posting style. I laughed.

I use Pale Moon with Disconnect, Flashstopper and Ublock Origin. Doesn't help.

WOW. 24 kbps? I get shaped to 64 and it's painful!

Use it to your advantage, and remember that it's almost three times as fast as me, next time you hit your cap.
It would also depend on the size of your allowed data though..Mine is 20gb. ,)

Though I will get a much fast internet soon (TM)..As fast as 10000mbps ..That's 10gbps.

*edit* 10gbps, without any sort of cap either.

Now, just make sure you get a network card -and other network gear- that can take advantage of it. You don't want to be limited by your router or a switch. Also, make sure your storage can handle it if you're downloading stuff - a SATA SSD will NOT be able to keep up, even many NVME drives may not be able to. You may need RAID0 or similar even with NVME unless you like your network connection to be bottlenecked by your storage (I wouldn't mind having that problem though).
