Alright, GOG's currency exchange rates have been updated again. The new rates are more favourable for nearly all the different local currencies (except for GBP and RUB), so people using them will obtain a better deal for non-regionally priced games. Regional prices have remained the same, so the USD equivalent has gone up. The end result is that you'll pay the same for regionally priced games as before, but at least the Fair Price Package (if applicable) will be more generous now.

As I said, the new exchange rate for GBP and RUB is worse than before, but since their respective regional prices have remained the same, their USD equivalent has gone down.

You can browse all the deatils in the 3 attached files. As usual, be warned that they are not actual JPG images but text files, so you'll probably need to download them and rename them in order to read them.

Not if you pay in USD you won't. You'll be paying more then.
Is this why Schein now costs $2.24? I could swear that it was $1.99. Or does my memory play tricks on me?

You're right, obviously. I was referring to people using their local currency (see the "...so people using them..." from two sentences before).

Exactly. On the other hand, yesterday it costed 1.99€ while today it costs 1.89€. Guess when I decided to buy it... :\

immi101: hmm, why do you think that ?
avatar
HypersomniacLive: Because their usual discount is -17%, which they got for Doom 3: BFG Edition. Though taking a closer look at all the regional discounts, Bethesda is overall quite a bit less generous in the case of Quake 4, with CH and GB even being overcharged, and UA, regUZ and RU paying exactly the same as for Doom 3: BFG Edition, though the base price of the former is lower than that of the latter. Wonder if the German market being out plays a role.
yeah, the Norway price is jumping around a lot these days. Seems to be randomly picked from somewhere between +20% and -20% :p
But I think it's relative common that pricing is different between games from the same publisher. (just a feeling though, don't have any numbers).

the price changes for Switzerland are weird. According to fables post the CHF rates for the standard GOG prices stayed exactly the same , but your list shows the price goes sometimes up and sometimes down ....

Always Sometimes Monsters
>>> Regional price changed from $11.19 to $11.80 in CH

Pricing changed for Age of Wonders 3 Deluxe Edition [Premium]
>>> Regional price changed from $34.82 to $34.71 in CH

of course that might be just statistical noise due to small rounding differences.
might need to extend our price info to include the price in local currencies to make more sense of these rate changes.
like this (see attached image) ;)

immi101:
Maybe that particular case is due to ASM having a hiked up regional price for CH but AOW3D having a slight discount which may be a result of a CHF price that's meant to stick close to the USD one but still adhere to whatever rounding / psychological pricing policy GOG has for CHF?

PS: No pricing update for the card pack?

yeah, it is probably something along those lines. just struck me as odd while looking through the changes.

of course there is. But since i basically just got home today after being away the last days i'm still sorting through all the stuff happening on Monday so I can post things in chronological order.
though I'll probably follow mutdefems example and just attach the rate changes as text file, it's mostly uninteresting. not worth posting it all.

aside from the gwent card deck, GOG also already set the pricing for Ys SEVEN yesterday. even though it is not displayed on the store yet.

full changelog for monday attached (rename to .txt)

i'll just post these three here, since they now feature some more regional pricing than before.
the rest follows the same scheme as everything else due to the exchange rate change.

Yep, $5.89 seemed odd. But even more interesting is what's missing. (Other than the claim of it being DRM free, I mean.)

seems to be a website bug. if you put the game in your cart and go to the checkout page, it says you'll get the fair price refund.
the API answer also says it should be there:

"baseAmount": "5.89",
"bonusStoreCreditAmount": "0.90",
"discount": 0,
"discountDifference": "0.00",

Oh, that it is. Interesting bug though. Maybe triggered by the fact that they can't have the DRM-free and no connection thing there, and removing that somehow removes this bit as well?

I can't find Sunless Skies on MaGog despite being announced here in February.
so i'm just gonna add it to my list unless muntdefems says otherwise.

Cuphead already has a price set even though it is flagged as 'NoPrice' and no price is displayed in the store.

mrkgnao removed all the upcoming games from MaGog's database when he put her in Legacy Mode. He kept the In-Dev games that were already available, but not the ones that had only been announced.

So yeah, go along and keep track of Sunless Skies yourself. :)
