I wonder why Nordic hasn't returned yet... or did they leave because of the Fair Price package?

They left because they wanted static local prices. GOG doesn't have them for all territories.

mrkgnao: From MaGog's logs for 2 April:

[...]
NOTE! CHANGED Sword of the Stars: The Pit Gold Edition - Necromancer [DLC], reg_price_ua: 2.09 ***TO*** 1.99
What a breathtaking discount.

It's just a GOG bug fix.

For a brief while, three games were more expensive in RU/UZ/UA than anywhere else:
Anomaly Warzone Earth, Braveland Wizard and Sword of the Stars: The Pit Gold Edition - Necromancer.

Then (following MaGog's report of this in the other thread?) the RU/UZ prices were reduced to their norm, while UA was merely reduced to the US norm. which is what you see in posts 5 and 29.

From MaGog's logs for 3 April:

NOTE! CHANGED Shadowgate: Special Edition Upgrade [DLC], price_hist: ***TO*** On April 3, 2015, price changed from $14.99 to $9.99

[This change did not affect the RU/UA/UZ price, which remained at $4.09.]

I'll celebrate those latest "good" news with buying less games from GOG.

With all those negative changes GOG introduced since early 2014 it has really become just another store among many.
And i'm afraid Galaxy will only make things worse - i doubt that i will still buy games here in a year...

Of course, I remembered this after I posted.

The reduction of the Shadowgate: Special Edition Upgrade [DLC] price is nice.
Not much room for the RU/UA/UZ price to be affected; only step left seems to give the DLC for free.

You forget the option of GOG paying users to get a game.
"Pay absolutely nothing for Game X and get a free $3 Fair Price Package".

This. It perfectly sums up how I feel about the whole GOG situation :(

Forgive me, I'm still too innocent for the realities of the market.

So it's cheaper now to buy the base game + the upgrade DLC than to buy the Special Edition right away?

Just one cent cheaper, but I still don't think that's great pricing.

Why so? I think it's better than forcing someone to purchase the full set right away, in order to avoid paying more later if he buys it in parts.

But, judging from past experience, if you buy the Special Edition, you get the base game and the DLC also marked as owned, while if you buy the game base + DLC, you do not get the Special Edition marked as owned. Isn't that worth a cent?

Because it's more complicated now to get the whole set for the best price. Yeah, just a cent and just some more clicks, but I'm a cheap, lazy bastard. :P

they will fix this soon, then you'll get 1 cent back in store credit, if you buy the whole package :)
