I just wanted to say that GoG really has a great community.

I don't have time to post often, so when I do it's usually for a reason. I've never experienced or seen flaming or trolling in our community. Of course there are some heated discussions from time to time, and I think we had some bots trying to post links at times, but everyone on here is kind and helpful to each other. New members and veterans are all treated with respect and welcomed.

This compared to most game forums as you all know is a world of difference. The PDX forums are an honest joke between the trolls and the forum moderators, you'd have a more difficult time finding a member willing to engage in a normal discussion or answer a question. EA's forums are the same, although better than PDX. GoG is the only community that is consistently a pleasure to be a part of and participate in.

Thank you all for that, and thank you GoG for being here!

Happy 10th anniversary and let's all keep the DRM free, greatest gaming platform getting stronger for another 10 years!

I disagree, one can form a rather negative opinion of humanity here, definitely has made me favor the idea of a gamer genocide more than before.

Oh come on now, compared to any other gaming forum? People give away game codes they get and cant use, or even just give out gifts. I missed buying a game that was being removed from the store by a day for some reason. I had some issue accessing the site or something. I commented in a thread about it and some forum member I never talked to before gave me a key. The member said they bought extra keys for people that missed the deadline and asked for nothing in return.

And its not just keys, but the general civility and respect for each other. Again, not in every single case, but generally and I would say in most cases. Far better when compared to any other gaming forum. Maybe GoG's original concept of old games just attracted an older crowd that is interested in the older games and remembers life without DRM when you bought and owned your floppies or CD.
I think the poster is right we have a great gamer forum family oh sure we get heated spouts between us as a family would, but even the trolls who love games tend to be more family like here which shows that good games makes good gamers.

gog is the last stand for oldtimers and newbies and friendly trolls who have one thing that ties us together the love of Good Old Games.
So the guy who's thread title is "free speech activist" wants to exterminate people whose posts he doesn't like.

Okay, just checking. :D

That should be "whose posts", not "who's".
Now you're on the extermination list not just of the anti-gamers, but also of the spelling Nazis.

I may exaggerate, but there has been a lot of downright psychotic forum drama here (and I've witnessed only a small fraction).
I guess it's calmed down now because of the moderation...on the other hand, that might render the forum boring and sterile.

The Puritans persecuted gamers. iirc there was a trial in Salem in the 17th century against gamers because of Satanism in the original Doom.
