I could see it from a gameplay perspective though, all those extra characters distracts. Imagine having a card named "Geralt" with Geralt and all his friends in the picture.

I'm first in line to be annoyed when companies give in and pander to outrage mobs, but the card with all the extra characters was just bad design in this context.
