What are your opinions and thoughts on each game? Do they stay faithful to the originals? Or do they try to reinvent the wheel so to speak?
I haven't played them, but I have looked at videos of them.

IMO they both look like absolute dumpster fires, and they both betray most of the principles of the previous games in the same franchise.

These are examples of why the wise old saying exists: "If it ain't broken, don't fix it!"

In the process of trying to do things in a different way, apparently to do something "new," they ended up not actually doing anything new (and instead they produced highly generic crap), whilst simultaneously, in the new versions, destroying the heart & soul of the previous games that carry the same title.

I tried Disciples III but didn't hold me for more than a couple hours. Seemed pretty clunky and they completely changed the formula (combat is now very similar to that in Heroes).

And it lacked the most important part. The art style and atmosphere of Disciples II. Seriously, the look of the units in that game, their sprites and portraits, are still some of the best I've ever seen.

I played the demo version of the new Disciples and watched the gameplay video that provided my friend.

As for the new Disciples game, I'd say that it feels more like a new take on canonical strategy. Sword Legacy Omen would be a closest similar example in my opinion. New Disciples game doesn't try to be a grim medieval strategy anymore.

Kings Bounty 2 looks like Ascension to the Throne 2. I mean, KB 2 is still a turn-based strategy game, but it is a third person walking and hex grid fighting game now. Just like Ascension to the Throne.
Disciples III isn't terrible, but it's so vastly inferior to the previous games, and has so little to do with them both in terms of story and gameplay, that I found it impossible to really enjoy it. If it was released as a whole new IP I'd probably consider it a decent enough, if unremarkable, TBS.

I haven't had a chance to play King's Bounty 2 yet, but it sure doesn't look anything like the previous games. Which is a damn shame. The colofrul, whimsical fairy-tale-ish setting was a huge part of the its charm to me. It's why I'm not really upset it hasn't even been released here. I wouldn't buy it until there's a major discount anyway.

Edit: I only now realised the OP probably meant Disciples: Liberation, not Disciples 3. I completely forgot there even is a new new Disciples game, it looked so bad in the trailers :D Obviously haven't played that one. It looks crap, and even further from original Disciples than the third one was.

Yeah. Liberation. My bad. I should have been more clear.
low rated
i did not , i wish i havent played the old distiples 2 , that was such a time waster
hope the new game has nothing to do with the old one
I haven't played the new King's Bounty, but the reviews have not been kind to it. I played the demo for Disciples: Liberation for a few hours- aside from the setting it has pretty much no relation to the previous Disciples games and actually plays much more like King's Bounty. That said if one puts aside the fact that it's in no way a Disciples game it was actually fairly enjoyable, and the reviews have also been pretty positive for it. So ironically if you're looking for a decent game along the lines of King's Bounty then Disciples: Liberation may have what you're after, while if you're looking for a new Disciples game you're out of luck.
