In case of GoG I don't need any third party tools nor wasting my time to play my games.
The best way is voting with wallet I believe, what basically means no drm for me : )
And yes, I know how things can be sometimes. It was ridiculous I had to fix some games to make them playable (ie, Deus Ex: HR, about 70 crashes with steam, 0 crashes without steam..)

Hummmm... that may varies, lot's of problems are reported on the game specific forums. Myself had one that did my head in big time.
I know that feeling, but still, I find it to be a problem of curation. I dislike Steam, I really do (still use it dailly though), but I still maintain that the problem lies in the people selling it there (as in the "AAA" industry).
And that could bring us to the topic of the thread haha.

You are supporting DRM free or not. :o)

The only game IGoG have problem with is The Witcher 3, won't run under linux..
Of course there are some games I would like to see here but I can understand if I am not the customer publishers are looking for, there is still more than enough games here : )
Steam wouldn't be that bad if not all those restrictions, it has great linux games base for example. But how I can play 18 years old game on my netbook with only 1GB RAM when most of it takes steam..

And I don't see (and I shouldn't) no one blaming GOG (the store) for that. Again, it's all up to the devs/publishers to offer something to consumers, besides the policies of the stores. After all, lot's of companies don't "play ball" with GOG policies, and we should nag them about it.
Oh, I agree with this, the thing that get people rilled up is them don't quitting with the whole "Steam is eeeevil!".
It feels like constantly nagging about something that you are not even supposed to like in the first place.
The thing shouldn't be "GOG vs Steam" per say, the rabbit hole of PC gaming and DRM goes much, much further than this petty "fight".
C'mon don't do that to me... I know, old games, dosbox and all that but c'mon this is too much. xD

Of course no one should blame GoG for direct3D The Witcher 3 only. There are other games however, with native linux ports we don't have here..
Steam is just a business and like any other has to make a money, and it does pretty well it seems. It also work great for many if not most gamers but not for everyone of course : )

I would argue that including DRM or leaving it out makes a difference in the product, but you are right. In Canada GOG is always a bit worse than Steam. It's because of regional pricing. Either Steam exceptionally loves Canada or GOG exceptionally hates Canada. One of the both.

For people from Canada I can understand that they feel like buying on Steam may give them the better deal. For people outside of Canada like me, I actually don't care much how the prices in Canada are as long as the prices here are even higher.

I heard lately the UK gets the shitty end of the stick, price wise. Regional pricing is not known for being very fair.
