Honestly, I think GOG is better now than ever. They've had some difficult decisions to make, but I think they've made all of the right ones. I don't really have any complaints, aside from maybe disagreeing with some of their game rejections.

- A veritable slew of new games and publishers. GOG really broke the back of the wishlist and with many unreleased games it just seem to be a matter of time.

- The Movies section could have been a good addition, but there's neither much in the way of independent cinema and certainly no big name releases. Now it seems to have been mothballed.

- Galaxy is a welcome addition and should, when done, give GOG games all the main benefits of Steam without the drawbacks.

- That said, Galaxy is taking a whole hell of a lot of time to make significant progress. Maybe they're working on a major new version or something. But whatever the case is, it's in danger of becoming detrimental. Pushing it in an incomplete state through Witcher 3 and others is a mistake and one that could really backfire.

- Also should be noted that Galaxy is pretty hostile to people on limited connections. I'm not, but many are and have complained about this.

- The game shelf is a lot worse. I miss manual ordering and the old boxes. Mandatory pagination isn't something I'm fond of either.

- Regional prices and restrictions are definitely not welcome inclusions. But GOG's handling them about as well as can be hoped.

- The forums still have all the same problems they've had since day one.

In short, if GOG can deal with the major technical shortcomings it's currently faced with then they're mostly on the right track.

To paraphrase Churchill, GOG is the worst digital games store, except for all the others.

Seriously though, I'm pleased to see stuff that I had doubts could happen, like Doom and Wolfenstein and the Gold Box games being released and Fallout returning. There have been some iffy things but on the whole GOG seems to be doing well for itself these days.

Maybe we'll even get Strife: Veteran Edition someday.
