Where do I go to find my older forum activity that does not show when I click "posts" at the top of the forum? Considering some of these were like last week old or something, this post function has a absurdly limited lifespan for posts of mine it tracks. It only shows one single thread that of this posting was posted in yesterday.

How does the rep system work? Is it secret or known?

This GoG FAQ page, does not answer any of my questions. So no, a link to that page does not count as answering anything.
No posts in this topic were marked as the solution yet. If you can help, add your reply
It's a secret and I will not divulge it.
You can't find your older posts on the forum, can just try external custom searches, such as googling your nick with site:gog.com/forum As for the rep system, +1 for the first post in a day (so not per post, but only for the first post made on each day you post on), then past that it has to do with what other users upvote or downvote. Each post that has a positive balance but not enough to be "high rated" (which I believe is +3) gets you +1, each "high rated" one +3, each that has a negative balance but not enough to be "low rated" gets -1, each "low rated" -3, those flagged as spam may give a worse drop, probably -5, and those chosen by the asker as answers to a question get +5. There's also a maximum change of I believe 12 points per day, either plus or minus.
high rated
The forums are archaic so don't expect a stellar set of functionalities. Other than the "My posts" section, there is no way to track post history.

The rep system works with these rules IIRC.

1) You get one point for a + and subtract one point for a -
2) There is a daily cap for how much your rep can go up or down in a single day (not sure what that number currently is).
3) You can get a maximum of one point for posting per day. Meaning that if you just post every day of the year, you can farm 365 points per year without a single person upvoting your posts.
4) You get a special 5 point bonus if someone marks your post as a solution in a question thread.
5) Negative rep members can't post links.
6) You need I think 5 points so you can begin posting links.
7) You get stars based on your rep number. 2500 is where you get the last 5th star. But the stars themselves are meaningless.
8) If you receive enough positive or negative votes on your post, it can become High Rated or Low Rated. Low Rated posts are hidden by default to other users.

Those should be the main points about the rep system.

Thank you Calvary, but using a search engine (and I tried several) doesn't really work. The search engine doesn't find all my posts for some reason and orders them at random, with posts over a year old at the top of the list.

So how many negative votes for a post to be hidden, 4-5? Do positive votes directly counter balance this? Like if you got 5 negative votes and 5 positive votes for the same post, would it be hidden? Would it be "low rated"? Would it add or subtract from my rep?

Unfortunately the forum is not Galaxy, so gets no attention. It’s been broken for years. If I was you I would ignore the whole rep system, there are scripts that can block it from being shown. It’s totally broken and abused.
As for searching for posts, it doesn’t work. You can try this:

nightcraw1er.488: As for searching for posts, it doesn’t work. You can try this:
It is even worse... It not only just doesn't work, it shows in full the level of incompetence of the person who is responsible for it.

First, if you try to search for something that has a space in it (like Heroes of Might and Magic), you will get nothing because it includes the escape character for space (%20) in the search string, making it absolutely useless when the resulting search term is "heroes%20of%20might%20and%20magic".

Second, if you search for a single word, you get the results seemingly at complete random. No way to order or sort them, it just spews out everything it found at you in complete chaos.

Third, if you dare to enter one of the threads the "search" found for you, it shows you only the posts containing that specific string, forcing you to disable the filter first EVERY. SINGLE. TIME....

An absolutely useless feature that is detrimental to the user and shows just how little care GOG puts into the forums.

Meant using an external search engine, like Google. The forum's search engine is bad even for the things it does search, as the above posts point out, and it only searches for what's written, not usernames, so it'll only find an username if it shows up in a post, such as when someone quotes said user's post in their own.
I believe it's the same, so if it's +3 for high rated, -3 for low rated. Not sure though, more or less educated guesses is all anyone has on this I guess. And yes, votes balance each other, so what matters is the balance for a post, add positive and deduct negative. 5 + and 5 - means zero balance, no effect.
I know they meant a external SE, that is what I was talking about.
Hi mycomv, u can click the COMMUNITY tab on top of the forum, select 'All forums' in the dropdown list then on that page, u wld c a list on bottom right called 'Topics I've participated in'. This wld show u all the posts that u hv participated in, or rather the topics so u can look thru there to find ur past posts. It's not exactly a direct method but it narrows down where u can find ur posts.

If u wld like a quicker way to located ur post in future, u can hover over top column of a post u made & u will c the post number appear. Click on it & it will bring u direct 2 that particular post, once u on that page u can simply bookmark it & perhaps even create a folder labeled as eg. 'My GOG forum posts' & store all ur post's bookmarks in it so u can locate them faster.

As for the rep system, i suggest u dun bother with it as the system is sort of broken due 2 abuse by trolls & it s pretty much meaningless as explained as by some other fellow GOGers (as i prefer 2 call it anyway). What's more impt is wat u post here & discussions u participate in as those will b wat determines ur real 'rep' here rather than some stupid no. ;)

Hope this helps. =)

"Topics I have participated in" does not list all topics I have participated in, only the most recent.

I'm not sure what you mean by "hover over a column of a post you made"

In Galaxy and on the web page, there's a button to the right of Topics I've particpated in that says "Show More". Click on it, and it will show you a few more. Unfortunately, you have to keep clicking it to show everything, and it only links to the last page of the thread, not your specific post.

To keep track of specific threads, there's a checkbox on the top and bottom of a thread you can select. That will keep it in your favorite topic section. Same issues though as with the "I've particpated" ones.

There is no "show more" for me. I see that button for hot topics, but not for "participated in". But I do know I've participated in more than just these few.

Not sure then, as I've always had the button show up on the side for me. The forums definitely need a makeover in more than a few things.

I've never seen this button either.
It would be nice if the GOG forum worked better / had more functionality. I know there are some scripts for that... but I guess it's not that important to me.
