darthspudius: Dude, if you just want to enjoy games. Buy them on Steam. It makes no difference to the experience, not one bit. Just enjoy the game and don't care what others think. I do recommend trying to get them on GOG just for the goodies though, they're pretty awesome.
nworc30311: I use Steam too. But if the game I want is available on GOG, I am going to get it on GOG just because I appriciate CD Projekt. And I think they deserve my money more than Valve. Also if you look at long term effect, if GOG becomes competition for Valve, it is going to be better for us players. Because they will need to improve. There will be more sales, better offers, better support etc. because they are competition and they need to beat the competition and be better than competition. I look at it that way.
But ofc, my switching to GOG doesn't mean I'm giving up on my Steam acc. For example I grabbed temporary free Amnesia Collection today on Steam. That is a realy good deal.
As always the one thing that makes me favour GOG over Steam and the likes is the DRM-free approach.
Firstly, it means my games aren't dependant on some online DRM service, and hence I may continue to play them even after the said DRM's servers close or Windows drops support for the said DRM.
Secondly, my games, once setup files are downloaded, are not dependant on the service.
