I stopped, so can you.
When I was a student I used to download pirated games.
But one day a free copy of Torchlight on GOG changed everything and now I either play games with no DRM or I don't play that game at all.
If you don't want to use steam then buy and download the game and then use a steam emulator or a crack with it.
In that way you can play game without steam and can support the devs.
If you buy a game then you wont have to wait for an update or download the whole game because 2KB major bug fix was applied.
Piracy is one of the excuse that big publishers make for Multiplayer only/ always online DRM/ Bad PC port games.
Irony is the pirated game you just downloaded IS ALSO A STEAM COPY!!!
