$20/£20/€20 is expensive, especially for an old game like that, but that's the price that EA sets, both here and elsewhere (well... it's slightly cheaper at Origin, where EA doesn't need to share the revenue). The advantage of getting it from GOG is that you get the difference (€20-$20) back in credit.
edit: Hang on, according to steamprices it's €9.99/£9.99 for Europe and UK respectively but $19.99 for ROW and USA. That's quite weird.

Game traders only go by lowest sale pricing, including bundles and free promos. But most of those best deals are Steam so trading on GOG is pretty difficult. Dead space is a $2.49 game for trading value.
Amassing a library here without spending money is too difficult for the most part. GOG Connect is the closest they'll get to solving that problem. :P

Awesome game. I remember playing that nearly 20 years ago :) TB and others have said gaming is actually pretty cheap. Compare that to collecting figurines, or Warhammer 40k pieces, or Startrek models, or other collectables. Or playing some F2P games that you give in and pay for premium currency.
Still I have hard limits of what I'm willing to pay for, and otherwise I'll wait. Or get it until it's an option to purchase at the price point I'm willing to pay.

GOG: 19.99e
Steam: 9.99e
Origin: 7.99e
It may be a ripoff to some people and somewhat I think the same, but then again I finally have the satisfaction of owning a DRM-Free copy of this game, I'll still be more careful before buying anymore EA games on GOG though.

That's a good advice.
gOg has some great free games, and I'm being 0% sarcastic right now.
While you wait for promo, play https://www.gog.com/game/tyrian_2000 or https://www.gog.com/game/beneath_a_steel_sky.
