Whilst grabbing a game from Itch.io I came across a recommendation from the developer for the program Parsec. Supposedly it allows you to play any Local Multiplayer game Online. I'd not heard of it before, and it sounds very promising.

https://parsecgaming.com/features/

https://parsecgaming.com/downloads/

https://parsecgaming.com/game-streaming-technology/

From what I read this one is pretty unique and their mantra is no bloat, but as I don't yet do multiplayer I am not up on all the aspects of it.

From all the regular complaints I see at GOG about multiplayer, I was under the impression that making local into online, was either not a thing or quite difficult.

Most of my multiplayer experience is from the days of the N64 and some Wii, especially as I never mastered the Xbox controller.
I did some research and it seems to have mixed reviews, however it seems more down to hardware and Internet provider more than software.

Some have said it was a simple setup to install the Parsec client while others have said it was difficult ranging from having to go through multiple settings within the client to having to download third party scripts to get it running properly, I believe the third party script stuff may be from earlier in the programs life span however.

Some people have also said to be wary as the client does have a page to purchase subscriptions and stuff but that just may be to support the developers so be sure to read that page.

Overall it is an interesting concept as long as you are fine with downloading a client package to run in the background but it reminds me of creating a package program to get an old program to go online by going through a LAN network option.
Few games come with LAN support though. It was a thing in the past.

I see that “leaving” didn’t last then...
Looks quite a lot like Steam Remote Play, at least for the game part of it.
Sadly, for those of us who dislike Win8-10, Parsec has a limitation:
"You cannot host on a Windows 7 computer"

Is this Parsec good? Better than a remote desktop?

You're back! Probably need a rethink on sharpest.

How is it compared to Hamachi, Tunngle, Wippien?

Years ago I preferred to use Wippien because it was least invasive. I don't remember what was wrong with the other two.

So I see it was wrong was I, to seemingly accuse you and some others of not being able to read properly.

I suggest you go back and actually do that.

But the short answer, is that I never said I was leaving totally, and in fact I said the opposite.

And I said I would be coming back for a while yet ... I have stuff here I am involved in.

Then there was the free game, which I also spike of.

So bad luck .... and for Heaven's sake, learn to read properly.

Another poor reader and thinker.

You also clearly miss the double meaning of 'sharpest tool on the shelf'.
Or is it triple?

Yep, surprise surprise, my ego lets me take a dig at myself .... oops, I've cut myself on the sharpest tool again ... jeez I must be a right tool.

Enough clues for you smart one. ;)

NOW IF YOU DON'T MIND ... how about we leave this topic on topic. Go badger me foolishly in my other topic, where you will at least be on topic, if not much more.

P.S. That's what I love about some at this forum, you do a thread that might be helpful to some, and no-one forced me to do it, but you still get attacked ..... small minds to say the least.

My,my my, if you wanted to stay on topic it would be easier to ignore said user's but no,you wish for the last rant of stupidity and yet if you left like you said you were doing then this discussion would never have happened....Now, take a few minutes and think about that.C'ya,again and again and again.....

I didn’t reply to you in the other thread, you might have noticed it if you had of read it. Was just having a little dig due to the nature of your other topic, however with this kind of attitude I can see why no one was bothered to see you going.

Ha ha ha seems much is lost on a few of you.

Oh well, not everyone can be the sharpest tool on the shelf. LOL

Bully me all you like, it is just water off a duck's back, and it shows more about your nature, for all to see.

Now what was that about the trees, wood and forest.

Have a good day now.

P.S. And don't count me gone, until I am actually gone ... ha ha ha ha.

Well, according to a mod, I was insulting you in post 11 and threatened with a ban. Now, the thing is did you cry to the mod and say you were being picked on by that nasty Tauto or was it just pure luck that a mod would think of it as insulting or was the mod being bias? I find it strange that the mod refused to answer a very simple question which proves bias. I wonder if another warning/ban will come my way because of this post, only time or crying will tell.

The OP you just replied to didn't even respect his/her own thread. (there's literally zero interaction to those who contributed or further on-topic posts from the OP)
Instead, bumped the thread (and the other thread for that matter) just to throw provocation.

At this rate, I don't think it's worth risking a ban by further replying.
I believe the high rate on yours and other users' posts here and the other thread, plus the subsequent negative attitude demonstrated by the person, already clearly speaks for itself.
