Fox on the run.

FoxTail is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.
Journeys needn't be epic in order to be magical or meaningful. Take Leah, the lovely fox of our story: she's smart, resourceful, upbeat, and she's on a very important quest. Just like in those good ol' adventures of yore, filled with whimsical characters, clever challenges with multiple solutions, and that effortless charm that never fades away.

Note: This game is currently in development. See the FAQ to learn more about games in development, and check out the forums to find more information and to stay in touch with the community.
This looks like my kind of game. Pretty anthropomorphic fox lady, art style reminds me of Legends of Kyrandia... All it's missing is some kind of FAQ in game subforum (as is usual for GID) about when we can expect the full version.

It looks beautiful. Wishlisted for now, but I'll pick it up soon.
wishlisted.

will be more interested when it comes out of beta.
I'll wait until the first bunch of reviews are out.

Every time i buy an early access game, it is usually bugged to hell or abandoned by the devs... or both.
I weren't planning on getting a new game for quite a while, but oh man does this look charming. I'm really tempted.
If only it wasn't pixelated it would probably truly look spectacular. Again, nostalgia gets in the way of everything :P

But even so it still looks kinda nice, at least the setting looks unique and the price is more than reasonable. I just wish we knew a bit more of what the game is actually about. The story is one of the key elements of an adventure game.

Reminds me of Inherit the Earth and other games like that. I don't want to play a point&click piecemeal though, so I'll be waiting a bit.
?? the site keeps spinning again while replying

so i will paste my reply here and hopes it will work this time.
I checked all the quotes end tags :D

Imo it looks like Kyrandia, and other classic games i watched the chap 1 walkthrough cause i want to see more parts of the game, onse scene is inspired by the kyrandia , with a bridge, and you knock on a door then someone opens it ...
typically good old classic fun we grew up with.

As for bugs the first chapter seems playable cause the guy who made the walkthrough was able to play it.
Anyway its been a while since i was able to buy a game cause 99% are new (3d/fpp) games and other games i might like are to heavy for my PC...

One thing i can't remember is clicking on objects to collects / pickup produced a sound, usually there is a click or clack sound when you open a door, but in this game when clicking on items to collects it plays a sound, i think thats a little too much, a sound playing when picking up/clicking on an object.

The game looks pretty good sofar
Looks cute.

Reminds me a little of inherit the earth

i have all 3 games

Kyrandia and Kyrandia 2 were good, Malcolms revenge is 'different', the art looks 'different'
i like the art used in part 1 and 2 better, haven't played part 3.

Just bought the FoxTail game ...

I decided to go for it. I have yet to burn myself with in-dev games, and for this price... The Kyrandia feel is right, though this is more modern setting (trains do exist here). Magic is probably off the table, maybe some mysticism later in the game.

I only had time to try few screens. The story may possibly be about tracking down your grandpa and his invention/experiment/whatever and learn how to fly in the process (the "longtime dream of all foxkind"). Or getting your grandma some tea leaves, can't be sure yet :)

Foxtail's website lists Kyrandia as the first of several influences, and the Steam page suggests that it'll be worked on for something like a year and a half.

Most of the current content is Leah looking for tea ingredients after coming home to visit her grandmother. Once that's taken care of, she's tasked with finding things for a medicine that her grandmother needs. The current content ends before that's resolved (many things in the trailer are from later areas that can't be visited yet), and things will inevitably spiral out of control from there as more game is added. There's a strong focus on her family and memories of her grandfather. 3-5 hours of gameplay right now—fewer if you know exactly what to do, obviously—and optional sparklies to make finding things that can be interacted with easier. No voice acting, but great expressiveness despite the limitations of sprite art.
