Trailer here!

It looks like it'll have that same Stardew charm but with a more focused scenario. But as this is early footage, who knows what bubbling stirs within the pool of the haunted walls?~

no offense or anything stardew is probably one of my favorite games but the guy made probably more than 25+ million and his new game looks and has the same assets as statdew valley? He should have hired about 10 people...Checking the video again and it seems the people have the exactly same animations.

His blog post on the front of https://www.hauntedchocolatier.net/ explaining his thoughts, hopes, and feelings about the project is so intimate. Almost uncomfortably so. He bared his chest to us with that.

It's in early development. Besides, who knows. It might be crossing over in a manner of speaking.

Yeah, and after what happened with Chucklefish, I doubt he'd ready to trust his code with any publisher.

I have no idea what people see in Stardew Valley and similar games, and I hate those NES-y graphics, so thanks, but no thanks.

1 - The game is just a pure joy to play, unless you're one of the weird hyper-optimizer/only-competitive gamers who totally can't get started and get stressed by it. Everyone just finds it pleasant.
2 - The art isn't even close to NES, or SNES. Yes, it's pixel art, but you have to get at least to PS1 before you can approach the what it is. The abstraction of the art in this game helps you to immerse, as your imagination fills in the gaps. Your brain makes the pixel-people into people inside and makes you all the more connected to them, beyond what a photoreal image would do.

I know they do. And power to them. I'm just saying I don't see the appeal. It sounds like a game made out of all the parts I always avoid and ignore in games. Crafting, fishing, farming, romancing...

I don't mean on a technical level, I just mean the style. I don't know what else to call it, "generic jRPG look"? Whatever you want to call it, I just don't like it.
