I was just wondering if I am missing something. I do not plan on using it, as I got rid of all the other games due to having to have their specific program for each company. Just wondering if anyone else was doing the same. Looking at the board, it seems that I am in the minority, and that people really like it. Congrats to GOG for allowing users and non users to still get their games!

Tried it. Uninstalled it. Not thrilled, not hating it. At this point in time I just don't care about it, I guess.

Not using it.

1) Even though gog forces us to, I prefer to not rely on beta software.

2) If that "show what you are currently playing" thing is not optional, I don't see how I'd ever use galaxy.

I downloaded it, but I don't see how it's any different from simply going to the web page to buy a game? I don't have any (GOG) "friends," so is socializing really the only reason to have it? I prefer flying solo when it comes to gaming (single player adventure gamer here). Could anyone explain to me why one would need to download the client?

From what I've read, Galaxy is still in beta and I think I'm going to wait until more of the bugs have been fixed.

I'm not, but I'm interested in checking it out eventually.

I use Linux, so no Galaxy for me yet....

At the moment Galaxy is more stress than the downloader ever was. If I were GOG I wouldn't have released it this unfinished and problematic - even IF it is still Beta. If you aren't careful Galaxy destroys your installations. I am also a bit angry that everything is still English only and that GOG is trying to push us in Galaxy direction. So at the moment it's more of "play a bit with it" not really using it. If I will in the future? Probably for the faster updates but I still prefer using the GOG downloader and a self contained installer to backup.

The path for downloading/upgrading your game has become prohibitively cumbersome without it.

If that's not compelling enough yet, I expect gog to make it even more compelling soon.

As I mentioned, one of the most important things about such a client are quicker updates because with Galaxy GOG does not have to update everything manually. Another nice thing might be the playtimes which are measured through Galaxy and - if you are into this - the achievements GOG is introducing with Galaxy. Other than this, yeah, it's guess it's just social media crap.

I will probably use it when it is more capable. But until download restrictions are removed, I'll stick with the GOG Downloader.

Edit: Forget that. Just tried it again and download restrictions have been removed. All it really needs now is a 'download all' button.
