Long story short, I have MyWisely and it has this stupid auto-block on purchases *outside* my country unless I manually set what country I'm "traveling" to, to enable purchases. It's asinine but it's what I have to deal with currently. Which means it blocks GOG purchases. I've tried setting it to Poland where GOG is apparently located but it doesn't work. And I can't use PayPal because it won't let me add money from MyWisely to PayPal through my debit card(because it counts as a pre-paid card for them, for SOME reason). The ONLY work around I've found for this is having someone send me money and then I pay them back immediately.

So, my major question is where do I set my travel notice so MyWisely will stop flagging GOG purchases as "out of country" because Poland isn't working.

I'll be the one to ask what the exact fugg that might even be (I can't be of any help otherwise but at least if it informs other forum users for the same question in the future...).

GOG is Polish but their payment processor Adyen is Dutch. So try the Netherlands and see if that works.

How about Google Pay?

It's a direct deposit service that used to be called ADP. After a 6 cent overdraft cost me a WAY more despite having overdraft protection.

Google Pay gets denied too because *it's out of country* and it's like some hard coded rule for their system. I will try setting it to The Netherlands because if the payment processor is there that *should* work.

How is a Wisely prepaid debit card different from a regular debit card?

One of the main differences between a Wisely prepaid debit card and a regular debit card is that Wisely offers prepaid debit cards vs. a deposit-based account. With a Wisely card, there are no overdraft fees because you can’t spend more than what is available on your card. In cases where identity verification is needed, Wisely does this without checking your credit or impacting your score in any way. A Wisely prepaid debit card is also reloadable, so you can add funds to it in a variety of ways. A regular debit card is tied to an account, which usually holds deposited funds. You can then access the funds by writing checks and making ATM withdrawals or electronic transfers.
^ There's your reason. It IS a prepaid card.

Any possibility in purchasing a PaysafeCard?

Not at 12:20 in the morning no. Anyway, changing it to the Netherlands didn't work either. This is stupid, I can pay bills with this account and taxes but I can't buy a goddamn videogame.

Then I'm guessing the "country you're traveling to" setting only applies to a physical POS and doesn't allow you to make online purchases outside of the US.

That's the thing, it works with other sites like GameBillet which is UK based. But it doesn't work with GOG for some goddamn reason.

UK-based in what sense? They're Estonian, as noted on their Terms and Conditions page.

Maybe try "Cyprus"?

Worth a try, but GOG's payment processor hasn't been based in Cyprus for years now.
