Hear ye, hear ye!

We couldn't be happier to announce that Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and its Gold Edition are coming DRM-free to GOG this Spring!

It's time to start preparing for Henry's next adventures in this potentially GOTY-worthy RPG from our friends at Warhorse Studios.

Ready to crown your library with this beautiful creation and keep it forever? Because we sure are!

SargonAelther: Let the Steamers beta test.
Exactly my thoughts... although I'm likely to wait until all expansions/dlcs are out and it's fully patched before I'll take the plunge as I've done for the first game (and any other big games like it).

wolfsite: Hope they improve the combat, it just felt like the game was reading my keyboard inputs and then would immediately counter it dragging the combat severely regardless of how much I built up combat abilities.
I actually ended up playing the entire first game with a gamepad because it made the combat tolerable. KB+M combat felt like endless suffering/truly awkward.

SargonAelther: Tell that to Atlas Fallen, which was supposed to come out in September 2023 (A month after Steam) and ended up coming out in October 2024 (over a year later after Steam).

(You must copy & paste the above URL, because GOG's hyperlink removes the archive part)
ngl I had forgotten about Atlas Fallen entirely, still that seems more the exception than the rule, and the delay certainly didn't involve the game selling well on other platforms because it flopped hard, the publisher just decided to wait till the enhanced edition was ready
Great news! And will includes spanish audio! ^_^

Vainamoinen: If the game bombs and drops out of the Steam charts immediately, it'll be here in a hot second.
Dustborn and, iirc, Xcom Chimera Squad are what come to mind for me. Which I don't mind (I prefer less curation than more, generally) but I get the sense we miss out on quite a few decent games too.

TT_TT_TT_TT: having a 2 month delay or such

Vainamoinen: Likely more. GOG doesn't have a concrete date because the publisher didn't give them one. "Spring" is the ballpark season because Koch's trying to consolidate their sales on Steam. If the game bombs and drops out of the Steam charts immediately, it'll be here in a hot second. If the game is really successful however, you'll wait until Summer or possibly in vain.
We're actually aiming to have it available here just over a month after the initial release! So this one really is "coming soon" :)
This is gonna be Fun :)
That's really cool.

But I've reserved already a physical collectors edition.

Would there be a way to activate the CE on GoG instead of steam, without to have to buy the game twice?
Or have I to choose either CE with steam or no CE with GoG? This would gonna be hard...
What about preorder bonus? Will it be available for later purchase? Or obtainable for gog users differently?
Has current day politics, won't buy therefore

Thanks for the confirmation! Then we really having an early Spring Release and while obviously a Day one release would be preferable this seems like a "fair" waiting time.

Memecchi: That's a weird headcanon, you know agreements are a thing, right? if the publisher offered a spring release, that's what GOG is getting, nothing is left up in the air or under conditions, spring means spring
Don't tell me what good business practices are.
Tell it to the developers of a shitload of games on my GOG wishlist.

Especially those "My Time at Sandrock" developers please, who announced a GOG release to occur September 2023, then two months later told people on Steam they never had plans for a GOG release (they had already handed out GOG keys to streamers by that point). The game is still in the GOG catalog, the game will likely never get here.

Koch Media, Deep Silver, Plaion or whatever they're calling themselves nowadays have an even worse track record for business practices. Once they took over publishing of Kingdom Come 1, the very first thing they did was to weasel out of each and every physical Kickstarter backer reward in one way or another. And once they took over the physical release of Broken Sword 5, they sent backers a "DRM free" game DVD that required a Steam account, that's the folks we're talking about here.

If it serves them, they'll screw you over.
