Hello!

I just purchased The Witcher, installed it, and when I try to lauch the game, or check any menu items, I get this:

"Code execution cannot proceed because 3d3x9_35dll was not found."

I scoured the www. and tried every fix-it offered: reinstalled the downloaded game, booted laotop, checked DirectX 12, tried to download DX 9 but my G7 15 wouldn't accept it, and I used the GOG trouble-shooter. Any solution out there?
I am so disappointed; I read about Witcher 3 and wanted to play them all on my new rig.

Please help....and Thank You!
Olivia

Games made for DirectX 9 or earlier (most classics here are made for DX7 for example) actually do require DirectX 9, not "9 or later". The limited version of it included in DX10 and later will not do. You need DirectX 9.0c alongside any later version.

I just launched The Witcher ,and exited immediately ,to send you a sincere "Thank You." I never expected such a quick reply, and easy solution.

Slovakia? You're getting ready to call it a day...or party! Whichever, have happiness. Thanks to you, I do!

Hey Cavalary,
Thanks for the heads-up. You cofirmed what I figured, but couldn't execute. I did try Triock's URL and am about to play The Witcher for the first time. After all this, I better like the damn thing!
Thanks so much for your help,
Olivia
