Do you have any real official source that the Bava, Fulci & co have fallen into public domain? I'm quite skeptic about this.... Or maybe you wanted to mean something else than "public domain"....

That reminds me when I attended the masterclass of the veteran director Radley Metzger (Camille 2000, Lickerish Quartet, etc.) in Brussels last year. Aside from the traditional Q&A, he did some scenes commentary and well, it was quite something to rewatch those movies on a big screen as they were intended to be (that's partly why I'm not so fond of streaming). Well, needless to say that when the masterclass covered up the hardcore stuff of his career, it was quite something to watch some close-up anal action on a 20m wide screen :o)

EDIT: BTW, lots of women attendees, nearly half of the audience...

I don't know about in Europe(though many of the 72 films on the Video Nasties list are public domain in the UK and US now) but alot of the Italian sploitation films are in the Public domain at least in the states or in some cases certain versions of them for example Fulci's Zombi 2 is public domain under a few different titles including Zombie Flesh Easters but not under Zombi 2 or Lucio Fulchi's Zombie since many of these films were released with multiple different titles from different distributors and the distributors often owned the US or UK rights to the film under that title, which is why a lot of them have fallen under the public domain but often it's just usually under the alternate titles.
