For a bit i've had the idea of the proper tag/title to put on games that throw micro-transactions and loot boxes, or long timers in order to coax you to pay more than you should. EA rocked the boat and with politics involved, maybe it will be resolved...

However the symbol i had in mind for a sticker for now, is 2 P's, one onside down so it's side by side with long poles that have a dollar sign through it. Easy to identify/recognize even upside down. Thoughts?

Nice. Are those logos designed by you?
Yes, although i'd have much preferred to use PSP to make it.

Certainly there's variations one can do, but the concept more or less will be the same.
I don't think that would translate well internationally. Is it Salt and Pepper?

No better than E for Everyone and M for Mature....

Course in UK where you have the Pegi system which is rated closer to movie ratings, specifying ages rather than letters...

If it's non-english, don't know. while we use the $ sign here, using the pound £ or Yen ¥ or other wouldn't be too hard to fit in.

Could just be a big ! or red yucky face too...

edit: added a Yen/Pound fill in, rather than make two of them... Whatever sign would be the most universal would likely be used. Seeing as the US dollar is the reserve currency and used almost everywhere at some point, i don't see why it wouldn't work...

Well, those actually define themselves right in the label area. CERO has content descriptor icons.

So think about it. You could show water with a shark fin. That screams predator no matter where you are.

That would only cover outright gambling mechanics/practices. Have you ever looked at IEC 60417?

It defines a lot of international symbolic ideas (including but not limited to Brightness/Contrast, Power, and such along with ISO 7000), in ways that are readily known.

For example, I draw a sun and shade half of it? That's something you know. Or a line with a starburst. That's laser radiation.

An upsidedown T with two smaller lines under it. That's ground.

You see? Those are all marks you can mentally picture at a glance.

But most of them are gambling systems or rely on addiction/annoyance to keep you paying.

No i haven't looked at IEC 60417, i might have to look it up.
