First off I know this should probably be listed in tech support, but it's really not a big enough deal to warrant ]
me spending hours fixing it. The problem is every time I uninstall older titles and reinstall older non-cloud games
the saves are gone. It's happened 6 times. Neverwinter Nights 2, Sudeki, Demon Stone, Summoner, and 2 other
games I can't remember off the top of my head. Anyway after having to start a new game multiple times I eventually just
started manually saving the save game file in an documents folder on my desktop where I can manually keep them safe.
Kind of silly but I was just curious if anybody else had this problem.

Welcome to gaming before cloud saves. That's how it was in ye olden days.
That's as much a case for tech support as your manual car not changing gears automatically is a case for your local repair shop.

As Randalator already stated: that's normal for old games. Some old games ask on deinstallation if you want to keep the save games...but not all...heck, not even most.

Congratulation on finding the solution to your problem on your own. :)

Non-cloud games do save them locally but I'm also sure using GOG's uninstaller, doesn't it throw up a "do you want to keep your saves?" message or something like that? In any case if you want to back them then have you tried Game Save Manager?

Or if you want to do it manually, PCGamingWiki is a good resource. Search for the game, and halfway down the page there's a "Save game data location" that tells you which folder you need to zip up (and post-reinstall, just unzip to the same location).
Yup, as many pointed out b4 this is a very common prob 4 old games. Unfortunately only some will prompt u 2 save or back up the saved game file/s elsewhere when u uninstalling them but there r also a few that will leave behind the save games files even after uninstalling them. Hoever, most will delete them so dun bank on them doing that.

I think so far the best advice it seems is still 2 manually save the saved game files elsewhere then copy or cut & paste them back to the correct folders after reinstalling, if any1 else hv a better suggestion or alternative i wld b glad 2 know as well. ;)

Edit: Thks AB2012 4 sharing. :)
