Why not give examples then. Why should it be illegal to change your nickname in online forums or games?
If you register user account at the biggest norwegian discussion webpage. You can change your online nicknames anytime and whenever you want.

https://www.diskusjon.no

Because changing online nicks in games or forums is not illegal in Norway or the European union for that matter. And Norway is part of the European union so please tell me how this is illegal?

Norway is NOT part of EU but has a close relationship, like being part of the Schengen treaty area.

DreamedArtist: You let the one thing of not changing a username at will prevent you from buying a game on here? Well I wish you luck on your journey in life and all the best for you, Good luck! :)

Congt2701: One size does not fit all. I will always buy at the store the benefits me most. And in this case I play a lot of online games. So steam benefits me the most in this aspect. I am loyal to no one. I will use the shop that benefits me the most.
The online factor makes sense.

Would GOG allowing you to easily change your nickname actually encourage you to buy more games here?
So you didn't gladly pay 100$ for Knights of the Old Republic as you offered before the game show up here?

Congt2701: In GOG you are stucked with the nick your first chose.
I think is for the best. Imagine all the trolls and scammers being able to change their names whenever they want.

Why do you want to change it so often??

Edit:
Damn, I didn't see your gif before posting here.

Well this thread took a turn for the WTF.
Now that's how I like it to be! :-)

Congt2701: Norway! The most subsidized nation in all of Europe. Depending on which parties you chose. You get different subsidized money for different industries.
I am actually a bit ashamed to be a fellow Norwegian to read this, and I can only think of four possibilities:

You're having a really bad day.
... trolling.
... too young.
... too ignorant. (Probably a combo of those.)

1. Noway is not a so-called "subz" heaven. The myth about the Norwegian state has been subsidized the electric car industry is misleading and is only perpetuated by people who either don't understand the meaning of the word subsidizing and/or how the economy is/are. This is a common problem here in Norway and the debate flames on regularly.

The companies themselves don't get money from the State, but the buyers of electric cars gets free pass on side lanes only for bus/Taxi, free pass on some toll stations, and cheaper road tax (which is payed yearly). This is an incentive to promote and get more people to buy ""green"", but it's still not the same as being subsidized.

The tax on CO2-emissions is not something the el-car industry gets. However, soon this will all go away when many have el-cars.

The oil industry does get subsidized but that's because the state own a part of the marked in Norway.

The car industry is only NOW requesting EU to get incentives for making el-cars, but that's only because EU has tightened the lower band for harmful emissions.

2. Norway is NOT part of the EU. Although we are getting access to about the same free marked as EU through another deal, we are required to abide by certain laws and regulations and don't have any ruling what so ever.

3. Stick is and always have been cheaper AND there's a lot of them. Very early on the stick was the norm in over 90-95% unlike US f.ex. where the numbers are flipped. That's understandably slowly changing with electric cars of course, and it's slowly being more of automatic transmission.

Actually, Tesla is by many the company that really changed the marked, but according to "Norwegian States Roadnet" about 2,9 million has license on manual, while 19.483 has only for auto-transmission (more and more teens are taking this route). That's about 0,67% in 2017.

About the end of 2017 over 140.000 registered el-cars were on the road (from the central register for motor vehicles).
About 30% of new cars on the marked today HAS stick.

4. Why would people change their nick/name every so often? This is something we use to connect to person and should not be changed, and this forum isn't the type of forum one needs to be "shadowy". If one really needs to change it then I don't see why contacting support for help is such a big deal. Just because you can't find it doesn't mean it's illegal...

Fairfox: does norway has awesome chocolate?
Not really but some will hate me for saying that.
They also let you edit your reviews if a game launches in a terrible state but gets the patches it needs.

GOG is better in almost every way, but there are a few things they could stand to learn from Steam.
