I had to reset my computer recently and have just reinstalled Pharoah Gold.

The game won't launch. I get a black screen, then a smaller black screen, then a third even smaller black screen. Then nothing.

I have tried to google a fix - and I can see that others have had this same problem - and I also read the GOG article about the issue. However, none of the fixes work for me so far.

Did anyone have this problem and solve it?

Please share your system and hardware specification : ) sounds like entering a black hole :D
