EDIT: friggin wrong forum. Too many tabs open. Please IGNORE!

Does anyone have any strategies regarding placing mines? The obvious way seems to be to place them just outside the door and then lure the enemies out and quickly retreat. However I rarely am able to pull it off properly and it's generally way too much trouble to make it worthwhile.

I'm asking because mines are the only item that seem "useful" but I was never really able to utilize properly. Is it just me, or are they just like this? If anyone managed to get any good results from them, please post.

Thanks

The best way to place mines is to send out a prospector so you can see what's in the ground and place the corresponding mine upon that.

At least that is how I do it in Settlers 2. :^)

Maybe he wants to blow up all those illegal immigrants that are flooding European countries.
I'm lazy as hell. I usually just put the flag in the corner with two mines on either edge and stick a "4" right next to 'em.
I really want to know what game you're playing now...

Or what forum you're on where you are planning to place mines in doorways...
Looks like ZFR has now found the Anarchist forum.

My guess would be Jagged Alliance.

If it is not game than I've never visited this thread ever, okay?

Ummmm, wouldn't this blow off the whole door and possibly a good chunk of the front of the house?
Generally placed at the outside of the main door is always a good place, though at times, inside would be better. While they can be great at entertaining friends, I am sure they will drive enemies crazy after a while, though enemy seems to be a bit of a harsh word. Perhaps non-friends or people you do not know fully yet? Or how about bill collectors? It would be perfect for them, especially outside the door. . The bill collector would go to the door in complete oblivion to the environment, focusing solely on collecting money, while, unaware what lies in the shadows. All of a sudden, BANG! Out pops all different charade actions without a single sound. Imagine the confused look on the bill collector's face, especially when they ask for you, and get the standard dazed look accompanied by the shoulder shrug. Quite funny.

Oh wait.....you said mines. I thought you said mimes. :)

Edit: Corrected spelling error.

Maybe it's not his house.
