Hey, i have a question. Steam lets you refund every purchase within 2 hours played and 2 weeks since purchase. As far as i understand, on GOG that period is extended to 30 days, but i may only do it if i have technical problems? So i can't refund if i simply dislike the game?

They changed the refund policy a while back:-

I really like that policy. It's certainly better than Steam's 2/14. It would be better if the support team would reply faster and didn't ask me if I'd like the money to be in the form of GOG funds (no, of course I don't), but nonetheless, it's still an upgrade over the tyrannical 2/14.

I mean, 2 hours is sometimes the time you will spend in settings or the launcher!

What do you mean, of course you don't? You either buy games here or you don't.

Expecting some quick refund to your bank or whatever is dumb, nobody does that.
Amazon has the same exact thing. Refund to amazon gift card, will be refunded an hour or two after you ship it back. If you want a refund to your bank, up to 30 days. You're also costing gog more by doing this since they pay transaction fees, which is why they prefer to go back to wallet.

Fastest way to get a refund is to go to https://www.gog.com/account/settings/orders and click the "Ask for refund" link next to the order. The few times I've done this, they have refunded to wallet the same day. If you prefer to your bank, I really don't care.

Steam does refunds way faster than GOG, and they are automated.

Also, why would they pay transaction fees if I am in Poland? Obviously, they pay taxes for every purchase, but for cancelled purchases? Maybe they pay transaction fees for you, since you live on the other side of the world, but would they for me?

"If you prefer to your bank, I really don't care." well, obviously you don't care about my money, and I don't expect you to :) we are just having a debate. Why wouldn't you want it back to your bank account? Bank account money can be used for everything, while GOG funds only on GOG.

They prefer the money is refunded as store credit because they are guaranteed the money will be spent on GOG. Money that is refunded to your bank, credit card, etc. can be spent anywhere.

Steam doesn't even offer you such option. You only get wallet funds there.

Maybe they've changed it since I used Steam, it's been a couple of years now, but I have definitely had money refunded to my bank account from Steam. Usually took about 10 days once the refund was accepted.

BS, you better go and check your bank statements then. I haven't heard about anyone getting their money back without suing them first.

It's literally on their own page regarding refunds. The only time you would be forced to accept wallet funds is if you paid through wallet funds, or if your payment method doesn't support refunds.

Because they have DRM and DRM enables automated refunds (you lose access to the game). With GoG, you could have downloaded the installer and still have access to the game after you refund. You can, but you shouldn't, as this is what is commonly known as a "dick move".

As for your other question.... You really do know why.

Where I live right now, the company could sue for repeated intentional refunds. They can also refuse to serve as well. So that's that.
