I don't do this very often any more but I noticed two pretty big sales on Steam that, even though not hidden, were buried under all of their regular smoo

I figure I will go and point it out to be friendly (really this isn't lucrative in anyway and it might actually sell out the keys before I, myself, can get to them).

So first I try two different SteamSale channels who both have a very strict and peculiar 'application form' instead of standard posting window and after some failed attempts I give up to go look for a less formal channel.

So I find a general gaming discount channel, enter the information and still get pinged for not following some really anal protocol.

No 'Thanks' what-so-ever for the thirty minutes of my life which I will never get back

Now you would think that after so many years of crap like this Reddit would be abandoned but there appears to be over a billion people who don't mind being Nazied around for two hours before they are successfully able to get one of their posts pinned.

And it's also reminder of how un-necessary many lives are nowadays

Needless to say that was unnecessary...

I despise Reddit, there's just something about the culture, the way people talk, the way everyone has the same opinions, it makes me want to vomit.

Social media is the drizzling shits. Best to stick with 1980s message board tech. It truly is the height of human achievement.

There is ALOT of information being intercepted and rubbished right now by many people and it's not just Reddit
It's any board that's set up to capture and moderate a post before deciding to let it go live.

Needless to say it's an ego trip for the mods who are normally the type to have got themselves beat up a lot in school

It's not just that, it's the whole design of the site that bothers me, the fact that it's entirely driven by popularity, posts that are the most popular rise to the top of the page and those that are disliked are buried. It leads to this really awful hive mind culture where mainstream beliefs are worshipped and any views that are different or alternative are despised. I can't see how anyone can tolerate the place.

All forums (except perhaps with very minimal moderation like RPGCodex) are like that these days, but Reddit takes this to an extreme.

Gone are the days of the old-school wild-west internet where anyone could say any opinion they liked, we now live in a dour, lifeless pit of forced consensus where everyone is afraid of offending someone.
