Political discussions not related to a video game are not permitted. Threads created exclusively to talk about politics will be locked. Users who ignore this rule repeatedly will be met with moderation.

Okay, so already many of us are in fair violation of these terms. Not only General, but also the intolerable rules. I have not personally read many of these, so I am doing so now. Mainly, topic needs to stick to the game and be respectful. So even bringing up these kinds of arguments regarding these games and politics in general is against the rules here. I didn't know that. Technically, these kinds of conversation have no place in the forums. I apologize for any threats, harsh language and political debate here, which were all against the rules.

Come to your senses, GOG, while you still can.
Uttering those terms alone is against the code of conduct. Let's observe it and be more respectful. You may not agree with the decisions of the store, but that doesn't mean you can use those terms in description. It may be better to talk to a forum moderator for sure.

TheGrimLord: I also did not indicate me. I indicated the young men I work with in the hood, who do play these violent shooters and would say those terms and probably do all that, because we have a lot of crime in our area. Over really stupid stuff like this.
I understood that, but it was still out of place. There is no need to go to such extremes, no matter how emotional you are over a subject. We come from different places, hold different opinions and ideals, but surely we can at least try to get along in a civil manner.

Rape accurately describes what is depicted, so I guess honesty is offensive to you, and to GOG.

Just like there is nothing offensive about calling a blind or crippled person blind or cripple. However, in this day and age we use politically correct terms like vision impaired person or physically disabled person.

For rape the politically correct term is non-consentual sex, btw.

"Political correctness" = conformity, and conformity is the death of freedom, so no can do -- not now, not ever.

For once I agree with you - I hate political correctness as well and I am all for freedom, but isn't freedom not also to let people enjoy in their free time what they want to as long as they don't hurt anyone with it? Especially if they are by far old enough to know what they are doing and to distinguish fiction from reality? To make it perfectly clear: I have absolutely NO problem with people disliking AO games. I dislike strategy games and consider them to be a chore ... so what? However I don't want to get told by others what I should and what I shouldn't play. I don't tell others what they should or should not play either. I am probably older than most of the haters in this thread and I think I am well aware what's wrong or right. In my 51 years of life I have never hurt anyone and I don't want to change this - ever ....and I saw a lot of controversial movies and played a lot of controversial videogames. What I am trying to say is just one tiny little thing: please live and let live - let people enjoy what they want as long as it is just on their PC or TV screens.

With this last post I will leave this discussion for good in the hope that some will understand that the best way to live in a community like this one here at GOG is by simply being nice to each other. Since I know that I've said some harsh words too in this very discussion I'd like to apologize for my words as well because I want to follow my own advice and not get emotional over a videogame. We all have one big hobby: "videogames". No matter if we like or dislike what the other is playing we should let everybody enjoy what they want since we all are one big family. People from the "outside" can't even imagine how playing videogames could be fun or how somebody could play a videogame for multiple hours ... well - it is OUR own little world and in our world we should stand together and not fight each other, dont you think?

richlind33: Let's be honest here...

February 7, 2022

FYI, this game has numerous scenes that depict brutal rape. If you buy this game you're supporting a company that thinks misogyny is a great way to maximize profits.
Okay, now please write a similar review under Tomb Raider GOTY. As this game features a lot of "murder porn":

To Mods: YouTube isn't a "porn site", is it?

Apology accepted, and as I already said, I'll be thinking about this for a very long time, because I can't in good conscience say that "murder porn" is somehow better than "rape porn", or that either one is truly harmless.
