Holding out for a hero. Aaaaany minute now...

Eric the Unready is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.
Morgana had the perfect plan: whisk her stepdaughter away before she could replace her dad on the throne, then assign the noble quest of finding her to the most notoriously incompetent knight in the entire kingdom. But against all odds and oddities, Eric the Unready might, in fact, manage to fumble and puzzle-solve his way towards a surprising outcome. Or at least some really good laughs, the ones only text adventures of yore knew how to provide.

MaxFulvus: Never heard of it too. I'm not even sure it has been released in France.
If you mean "est-il sorti en France, comme d'habitude traduit à la truelle ?", I don't think any of the earlier Legend games got translated. Death Gate for instance wasn't (it was even pointed out as a negative in the Gen4 review), and I don't think the earlier ones were either (Blackstone Chronicles was translated though).

Nice. ... Should I get it immediately before it disappears again? Or is it safe to wait a bit?

Was that the point of removing Death Gate so soon, to encourage users to buy Legend games on Day 1?

In any case, try to bring Death Gate back and while you are at it, can we please have Frederik Pohl's Gateway here too?

This seems to be sort of a text adventure with only some pics added to it to make it look more interesting. Not sure if I would still enjoy those.

guppy44: The screenshots are, well, unique on this one. I'm unfamiliar with this title but it seems to be spewing with satire and I like the looks of it.
I'm pretty sure the art's done by mr. Boris Vallejo. Judging from the cover I might say...

I doubt it will return. Death Gate as far as I know is still owned by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. Because of what happened with Dragonlance, they are not likely to let someone else have any leeway with their IP. I strongly suspect one of them pulled the plug on Death Gate - less to do with money and more to do with the game being a poor adaptation of the novels. I've reached out to the original authors for comment but I don't think I'll hear back.

Yes, i thought as much. In case they respond please tell them that even bad adaptation can be a good advertisement for gamers to buy books. I've read a bit in Russian (not the best translation) and i'm going to buy whole cycle in English.

True, but in contrast to the old text adventures it shows you who and what you can interact with and the actions you could possibly perform, which should eliminate a lot of the guesswork originally needed.

You can always rely on the less legal avenue. There are easily available pira... err, "used" copies out there. ;) Seeing how quickly Deathgate got pulled, I don't expect for it to pop up again anytime soon.
