Runaway train never going back.

Fear Equation, a first-person strategy game about managing a fright train, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com for Windows and Mac with a 25% launch discount.

There is something unnervingly wrong about the fog that has recently engulfed the world of Fear Equation. It doesn't just make people assume their greatest horrors are hidden within. It actually brings them to life.

A thundering locomotive penetrates this nightmarish barrier - heading towards rumored safety, seeking refuge for its one hundred and fifty forlorn passengers. You are at the helm of that train and your job is to plan the course, manage supplies, and handle all the unexpected occurrences that threaten to derail your mission. Remember: these people are your responsibility but they are not your allies. If you are to keep them safe, you must first keep them out.

Make sure you reach your destination and solve this Fear Equation, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 25% discount will last until January 22, 1:59 PM GMT.

Matruchus: Ok, this kind of slipped under my radar. Hm, have to research it a bit.

Edit: Ah, a game from devs of Zafehouse Diaries and Deadnaut. Should be interesting.
Definitely. Game looks like having mix of stuff from the two other games.

IAmSinistar: Looks like Zafehouse: Diaries hits the rails. Pretty dang cool concept! I love trains, and I love horror games. Wishlisted for now, but I may cave before the end of the day and snap it up.
thought you were on a game buying embargo temporarily ;)

Looks really interesting, not got the time to play it right now (or for the next month once Rise of the TOmb Raider comes through my letter box).
I had never heard about this game before either, but looking at the screenshots my first thought was "this looks an awful lot like Deadnaut!" :)

pyatak: why there's no linux version?
there were linux demos of "fear equation" during development...
Apparently, a Linux version is coming eventually.

Grargar: Never heard of this game before.
Well, it only came out a month or so ago...
'fright train' nice!

The concept of this game sounds great...but I remember feeling the same way about zafehouse diaries and not enjoying the game much.
I like the survival concept. Might check this one out.
Zafehouse Diaries was a cool concept, but a little underdeveloped for me. This looks like it could be promising.
Looks cool, will definitely grab sometime soon. I've been on the verge of starting Zafehouse for a while now.

Having seen the topic sentence, just dropping by to drop a little Sweet Dee. :)
Looks pretty damn interesting, actually. But next to nobody's heard of it and of those who have none seem to have an opinion on it. So wishlisted for now.
Well, I tried to write a review but failed miserably. There's just not enough space to do so. I really like the game, but I'm a fan of their early games which helps too. I've had the game for about a week now, so I guess I could answer some questions.
I don't like to 'advertise' but watch this guy, he at least has some videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZrJyW0Tmdr_MzyimLll5Ag
He's a good watch too.

So is this like Amnesia and a roguelite?

Okay then... it does seem to be really in depth. Is it a really difficult game to get the hang of?

This is a gameplay video I found on it. Doesn't look at all like Amnesia. But does seem a bit roguelike.

Damn, as someone who's really not a horror fan, this looks really cool. Maybe it's just because I really like trains, but this one is definitely going on my wishlist.
