A new turn-based tactical game from Alawar Entertainment is a true gem for vintage sci-fi fans. I am not a Monster: First Contact is now available on GOG.COM DRM-free and 55% off until 22nd November, 2 pm UTC.

Lovers of books by Philip K. Dick, Aldous Huxley or Robert Heinlein will be thrilled to dive into a battle fought in a brave new world. I am not a Monster: First Contact takes us to the space liner Albatross in the far future. The ship is being overrun by lizard-like monsters that can turn every human being into one of their kind. Will you be able to stop them from taking hold of all Albatross passengers?
Turn-based isometric strategy...and 55% off...nice!

Edit: I'm a huge fan of Philip K. Dick, Aldous Huxley, Robert Heinlein, et al...so this is practically a must buy for me.

Edit 2: Ok, I bought it. I just couldn't resist the Flash Gordon like appearance and the release-discount.

A small heads-up for interested people - the trailer contains a scene which I would count as a minor spoiler...("It's a trap!").

Edit 3: Holy Macaroni...7,9 GB installation size. Wasn't expecting that (shop says Size: 943 MB).

I hope this sort of music comes up while playing this game.
This actually looks really cool.

And I love how the aesthetic and even the names of the characters really capture that early sci-fi "jank" if you will.
high rated
This looks really cool but Dick, Huxley, and Heinlein are like the most random selection of sci-fi authors, unless there's something really crazy hidden inside the story. It's like promoting a game by saying "For fans of Dave Barry, Tolstoy, and Danielle Steele!"
odd. i have this on that other store, yet im sure it was multiplayer only when I got it.
guess ill have to check it out again.
Wow, that looks really cool.
I really dig the retro sci-fi aesthetics. Definitely very tempting at that price. :)

It was initially. The single-player campaign wasn't released until ~2 months ago.

AH!

well,i guess im downloading it again tonight.
From the cover artwork, I honestly thought this was an MS-DOS release. Still, I like turn-based squad strategy. This looks like something I'd play.

Yeah, it has a DOS era vibe to it, and it defintely looks like Dolph Lundgren ("I come in peace" era perhaps?) vs the Gorn from the 1960s Star Trek.

It looks like a B-movie Turn based sci-fi flick goodness.
Instabuy!
I am not a Monster: GOG Edition
This looks badass. With an opening discount and full GOG support I might not have an excuse to NOT get it.
Isometric, with the classic sci-fi look! Definetely going on my wishlist!
