In the year 2134, if man is still alive...

Mission Critical is now available DRM-free on GOG.com.
You appear to be the only survivor. As your ship was cruising through space on a mission that would potentially end the 50-year-long civil war back on Earth, an attack left you all alone to fix your ship by solving dozens of puzzles, and to keep the nefarious UN at bay at all costs (some rudimentary RTS skills required here). Do you think you can still make it to Persephone and unlock the powers of the enigmatic alien artifact?
Never heard of this one - but it sure sounds interesting.

Great to see this here. I have very fond memories of this. A good hard science fiction tale with an amazing solitary atmosphere. I usually suck at RTS, but the drone combat was both a lot of fun and still quite tense while perfectly doable. A rare example of an action component in an adventure game that enhances the whole instead of being obnoxious.

It was awesome seeing Michael Dorn in the intro. Even though it has little to do with the rest of the game except to serve as setup for the slightly contrived situation of being the sole survivor on the whole ship, this was a great scene that did a lot with very little.

Thank you, GOG!

Another Legend Entertainment game + more FMV. =)

Guter: How difficult are the timed gameplay sequences in your opinion? Are they becoming annoying? Thanks!
I played the game completely when I was much younger - so they cannot be that hard.
Holy smokes, I'd been waiting for this to hit GOG forever! I have a physical copy that I found battered and bruised back when EB Games was a thing and they had a PC section, shortly before all that changed, and before that I played the demo that came on an old PC Gamer disc, back when PC Gamer cared about PC gaming and gamers in a positive way, over and over again till I could play through it with my eyes closed.

Truly a favored classic that I'm happy to get once more, thanks so much to everyone involved in getting it back into the hands of gamers!

Edit: Also, would like to ask, does anyone know if this is the updated version that fixed the FMV transitions issue on Deck 2, I believe? Was kind of hard finding the patch recently for my physical copy, so...

Edit 2: And for reference, the FMV transitions bug on Deck 2 could cause crashes, so a patch was put out sometime after the game's initial release, so just wanted to be sure if this had the official fix or not.

Space Ghost
60s cartoon

I thought you were referencing it because at the beginning of the show they always yelled "Spaaaaaaaace Ghoooost!"

Oh how I miss the days of going to a brick and mortar store and perusing the big boxed PC games. I lived on demo discs and had subscriptions to probably most of the PC magazines back then and would read articles and play demos building up my excitement for games. My limited gaming budget at the time meant I really saved for the games I wanted the most and there was no such thing as a backlog. Don't get me wrong, I love the convenience of digital games these days and GOG is a little slice of heaven for my nostalgia, but man, those sweet sweet old days... :D
Interesting. Picked up a physical copy last month! Hmmmm.
A classic on a Wednesday - that surprised me! Lotsa votes on this one, glad to see it here.
