JinKazaragi: Is that game good?
The one person I knew who played it said it isn't, but he sometimes has a wierd taste when it comes to games so I don't want to rely on that.
Loger13: Very good, but in own way.
Do not you have a feeling that the last 10 years computer games have ceased to progress technically? In games, only the graphics improve and that's it. And the creators of this game tried to do what is very little in what games there is - TOTAL destruction of everything. You can enter the building, make a hole in the wall in the place you want, you can break bridges, destroy buildings, arrange blockages, etc. You can even dig arbitrary tunnels if you have enough explosives. Not "graphics way", but "interactivity way". No more indestructible chairs, fences and doors (even if you shoot them from the bazooka) as in other games. You see it (something... ANYTHING!) - you can destroy it. The only question is the amount of explosives. :)
If such interests, the game can be very enjoyable. Strictly speaking, Actually, this is exactly what the players loved this game.
It makes sense to watch the video game process and decide for yourself. However, at the current price, I think the game can simply be bought and tested by yourself, if the idea seems interesting.

F4LL0UT: It's a bit of a mixed bag. I started another playthrough of the original version just two weeks ago or so, abandoned that playthrough when it occurred to me that a remastered edition will probably be released before I even finish the game, lol.
I think the technology powering the destructible buildings is very impressive and destroying structures by using a hammer on them, blowing them up, driving through them or hitting them with a mech's arms remains as fun today as it was back then because there simply isn't anything quite like it out there. In that regard the game basically hasn't aged a bit (unless you've played a lot of the more recent Battlefield games maybe - I haven't).
However, the game is okay at best in all other regards. The story and setting are kinda cool but nothing to write home about. Gunfights just work but won't blow you away. Driving is okay. Missions are decent when they are excuses to blow stuff up, missions that aren't about destroying structures tend to be annoying. It's a bit like with the Saints Row games (also by Volition), you get a lot more fun out of it if you mess around with the tools at your disposal but it's a bit of a drag if you just stick to doing missions. Also, the game bombards you with side activities through radio transmissions. You can ignore them but it kinda makes you feel bad (at least it's the effect they had on me) but doing all of the side missions gets tiresome because they are highly repetitive. Ironically the graphics, even in the original version, hold up pretty well, presumably even more so in this remaster.
I highly recommend getting it if only to check out the tech and get some fun out of the destruction, it's a good game to blow off some steam once in a while but it's not really a great sandbox game in any other regard, to be honest. It's one of those games that I've approached many times, got a lot of fun out of over several sessions, but never bothered to finish.
Anyway, at that price it would be silly to pass on it, to be honest.
Edit: Oh yeah, also the soundtrack is pretty great.
Hm, I mainly play games for the stories so I don't think it'd really fit my taste.
10€ is a bit much for something to just blow off some steam every now and then, I guess I'll wait until it either falls another 2-3€ or I'm not short on money anmore.
Thanks anyway.
