These corridors sure are spacey.

StarCrawlers, a turn-based dungeon crawler where you deal with randomly generated hazards in closed space(s), is available now DRM-free on GOG.com with a 25% launch discount.

If corporate espionage is your game, your only hope for success is putting together a band of those intrepid enough to hunt for bounties, undertake sabotage missions, and navigate the dangers of space, while keeping you in reasonably good standing.
Coming out of GID, Starcrawlers now features intriguing lore items, a trader of exotic goods, bosses spawned by disgruntled corporations, plus plenty of fixes and improvements.

The 25% discount will last until May 30, 4PM UTC.

Watch the trailer.

superstande: there are changes available for cooldowns in levelups, if I remember right. I haven't tried all the classes though.
I wouldn't say simplistic, when you take into account stuff that comes along later...
But we all have our tastes ;)
I didn't say it was a bad game, I am enjoying it, but it is rather simplistic compared to other games in the genre - no attributes, no races, no real (non-combat) skill system...

Fair enough :)
Sure, comparing SC to Dark Souls makes it seem quite simple, or to Pillars of Eternity...
There is some complexity though, with the faction feature. Not sure how that will work later in the game, but at least there is a lot variety in who's favourite the player's team becomes, and all that.

Yeah, do you know exactly what the factions reputations do? I've basically been looting stuff and selling it on black market without really caring about the reputation loss.

One direct impact I've seen so far - and I hope this is not a spoiler - relates to the abilities of one of the character classes...
You can see the abilities in the character creation / hire screen so I guess it's not so much of a spoiler than just tutorial material :)

The soldier has a "Custom Armor" ability - and acquiring that, there are bonuses at the start of a combat, if the armor's faction rep is positive...
I'm guessing there is more stuff like that...
Of course, I was broke on release, just had my check clear and come back to buy this...

You've missed the launch sale by a few hours.

They’ll come for you.
Sure is a nice looking game. A pity the combat turns me off.
Only just started to play with it briefly (after whinging for a fair while about lack of turn based scifi type games) and while it seems OK, does it always feel there is something lacking?. Cant quite pinpoint what. Kind of expected a bit more??. Is Chimera and the third one potentially improved for better or worse?

I've had this one for a while now and have yet to dig in - curious how it plays as it looked decent.

Another one I've saved for a rainy day, as I think it's going to be fantastic and exactly what I want to scratch the itch when I'm in the mood is Conglomerate 451 . If you're jonesing for more Sci-Fi turn based RPGs you might want to check it out too.
