I am new to Gog.com and am in the middle of a game. I have just logged in on a different PC and want to continue with my game without going back to the start. How do I do this?
That should work via cloud sync which is supported for many, but not all games.

Normally when you quit a game, the Galaxy client should sync your savegames "up" into the cloud. Now, on the other machine, when before you start the game, Galaxy should sync those new saves "down" to the machine.

Of course the feature must be turned on on both machines for this to work. And the game must be supported - you can see this on the game card of the store under "Game features".

Kathy Rain, which you recently played, is sadly not supported, neither is Starship Titanic.

In this case you best bet is to try to locate the savegames on the machine and use an USB drive to carry them around (or some cloud storage like DropBox).

Save games are generally just files. You can copy and paste these as you want. They tend to be stored in different locations, but some popular ones are:
%appdata%.
Type the above into windows explorer and you will see local, roaming, and local low. These are data stores for apps.

Could also be in documents, M&B stores them there for instance.
It could also be in the actual install folder.

Just a matter of copying the folder or files, then pasting them on the new machine. You can also keep these files, make copies etc. Useful if you ever want to come back, or make different save points. Note this is not possible with galaxy stored cloud saves, only local ones. Cloud stored ones are out of your control.
For many games, but not for all, savegame locations can be found on the Save Game Locations Wiki. The search box for the name of the game you want info about, is on the right of the top toolbar on the page.
