Seems pretty useless if it comes to the "mere ownership" because at first the majority of the people may not become attracted to it, because of those moralistic views with lack of substance. Indeed, the games will become attracted to it, reason why they run so well by using it... so it surely is something practical. Anyway, nope, most of the people are not attracted to it, so most owners of those stuff prefer to be quiet about... and quietly enjoying it for themself. They may own bragging rights but only toward a "selected few". In overall, most of the people... especially women, barely got any clue "what it is all about" and barely know the name of one of the worlds richest companies (actually currently top 3)... simply how it is.

On top of that, it is surely way more visible and therefor of advantage... using a good makeup, visiting a barber every single week, wash the clothes every second... or even every single day, so there is no bad odor other than the smell of washing powder, fixing the nostrils and some linked stuff by a surgeon and in general throw away any clothes as soon as they either lose some colors (which happens fast if washed a lot) or are becoming worn out.

Some "inside beauty" may still be missing... a fine wisdom, a healthy lifestyle with healthy food. Instead a huge amount of people got inflammations almost everywhere... and a pretty questionable mental shape with as good as zero knowledge about nutrients or any great book... or even great games... or perhaps even great hardware, why not?

This is the stuff making someone attractive... not just by "owning" or "buying" something. Attractiveness comes from a bold, deeply honest, sophisticated knowledge and lifestyle... way beyond "outer means" or simply a outer shape.

It surely is attractive if someone got a high knowledge and insight related to their stuff, not because of owning it, instead because it is part of what they love and care about. In general, any special interest which goes beyond just "owning" it or "just because of its looks or appearance, nothing else" can be pretty attractive.

Indeed... i think those guys talking a lot about cards and other hardware are as well attractive by doing so, no matter if me or someone else is actually enjoying those stuff. Again, it would not mean much to me if everything is just focused on a "outer shape"... those stuff is only good for getting laid with a single night or some more nights... and thats it in almost any case. As a worker... it is only good in order to boost a image or the sexual desire of someone... yet, it may slowly ruin any company... as long as there is no true competence.

Ultimately, what makes someone "sought after" is not the price or size of a card but their heart and mind which might become involved with... it goes far beyond "its surface... or simply its superficial values".

Attractive men, who talk a lot about cards of any size and prices:

NVIDIA RTX 5090 at 575 Watts, RTX 5080, 5070 Ti, & 5070 Specs
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQ8gSV_KyDw

This PC is almost $7000... Is it worth the price?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbNlQF5vs5Y

Besides: Indeed, Nvidias chief or AMDs CEO is as well pretty attractive... as they are involved with their stuff in a meaningful way, no matter if someone got any interest for it, as it is far more than just some "superficial traits".

Wake me up when these chipsets arrive also to gaming laptops.

Until then, my mobile RTX 3080 will have to do for now. It runs older games like Dragon Age: Origins, Demonicon, The Witcher 3 etc. just great! Yet to try Cyberpunk on it.

Grargar: I still remember a time when a top-tier GPU would cost no more than $600 (translated to €700 for Europoors).
Now, people are relieved that the 5090 only costs $2000 and not $2600. Thanks Obensen.
Yea, uh like so? Apparently, more than half of the people that live in my country are able to get a loan for a 800.000 dollar house. Tesla is the best sold car these past years and murder's never been so low.

Did you know that owned car prices just won't drop because everyone prefers to have a lease wagon. Lease wagons that will be repaired and serviced for the highest cost possible.

If you'r on the wrong side of that fence, life can seem so unreasonable
People can get near endless "loans" on certain places as long as their are willing and capable of becoming a slave in exchange for it. Not to be taken with a faint heart, because slavery is a high price to pay. Fortunately the majority is accepting their slavery and hopefully it will make a society bloom in some way. It surely is not my way of living... this dept ridden condition will make me sick... as i prefer to own something instead of becoming "owned".

EV is not a cheap car in a country with high power costs. However... in Norway the power is so dirty cheap... they did not even need to implement strong politics condemning old cars, as... with such bargain prices for many people it simply is a pretty rational decision. On top of that only few people are driving a lot of miles... so a EV is cheap and sufficient to maintain there. On Netherlands this is not exactly the case... as the maintenance of every car is very pricey, no matter EV or combustion. The only true motivation is by implementing strong politics and handing out huge loans... which they did.

Whats clear... "old cars" with a good combustion engine is soon a "luxury car" in those countries and the high price is simply because no one is doing a maintenance for free on a car with very high taxes (this is indeed forced) and a increasingly depleted capability on how to repair and maintain it... the new generation is slowly losing this "old knowledge".

Yes i own a almost antique car with a big combustion engine, and yes, maintaining it is a luxury... yet it is totally worth it to me; driving such a car is the epitome of freedom and making someone feel free in many aspects. The rather big reseller price is because of the maintenance it will need. If not done properly it will not only become unreliable, it may lose any value. However, a properly maintained old car with a special engine is increasingly getting rare and the prices are going up soon like never seen before. Because it is not just driving from A to B, it is a "experience", the one from a lively and charismatic car.

Slavery is lacking any coherent feeling when paired with a car, because slavery is lack of freedom... and losing the freedom in exchange for freedom is a foul trade.

Xestra and I agree again. I am not a fan of DLSS and other upscaling tech. in the least and if you are comparing DLSS numbers for results in game saying it compares to the 4090 instead of native it doesn't count to me and I throw that out.
I consider it trying to trick someone they are actually getting notably better hardware. This sounds to me nVidia is not bothering to improve as they have the dominant position.
The only reason I think the 5080 may be listed under $1000 is because of the Battlemage and possibly the new AMD cards being cost competitive. I still find it ridiculous that on a nVidia card you have to pay $999 to get 16 gb. of VRAM.
As it stands the only cards I am interested in currently are the B580 but I am pissed about your results depending on your CPU, the 7900XTX because of the 24 GB. of VRAM(unless one of the 9000 series ends up with 20 GB.) or the B580 with 24 GB. if it comes out. The reason I say the last is because XTX still doesn't do RT as well as I got the impression Intel has generally so I suspect RT with 24 GB. will at least have more wiggle room than the 12 GB. card as well as all the reasons Xestra stated.

yea, we had an article in our newspaper that suggested the collected income of 100k on a year basis would be enough to support the loan for the starter houses in my country. Anything less is something the banks strongly advise against.
so there you have , a 2 person starting household were both parties are expected to bring in this income. From that income you can sort of deduct that the house market atm is only privileged to the people who earn at least 20k over average. per year

but yea, this was of course not the point

This is so odd to read to someone who literally embraced DLSS. I do think that technology offers multiple ways to reach similar results. They all do require some sort of monetary investment though ;P

I have never been a fan of DLSS unless you meant Xestra. I generally hate upscaling, including for movies. It pisses me off most modern movies were shot on an Arri Alexa that is 3.3 or 3.5 and upscaled to 4K for the disc.

drxenija: 5090 has 32GB VRAM

Almost choked on piece of chocolate while reading this. :D

It's crazy, the one major complaint people had with NVIDIA wasn't fixed at all.

So...Intel offers 12GB at 250$, AMD will offer 16GB at likely 500$ or less, and then NVIDIA goes back to 12GB at 550$.

VRAM isn't everything but on a mid-range GPU it'll be the difference in whether or not you can play games at the quality you paid for.

drxenija: 5070 has 12GB VRAM
5080 has 16GB VRAM
5090 has 32GB VRAM

They kept lower tiers exactly the same amount except for the most top card
But ... Can It Run Crysis?

:D
Well, a 5080 and even a 5070 TI is more expensive than a PS5 Pro with the same VRAM amount and indeed the PS5 Pro can run Crisis of any generation. The only card that might be cheaper is a 5070, yet i am not sure if it may run better than a PS5 Po, if so... the difference is so low, it will not achieve any new possibilities. Optimization would make the bigger difference.

So, not sure why some people think it is fair priced. Once again... the real price on a shop was usually way higher than the "official price" on almost any card.

As long as there are insufficient supplies for whatever reason... we always will get a price boost. I already got the data from certain vendors related to the 9800X3D and it looks like they got a very low supply, especially compared to the very high demand. So, hardware shortage is still a issue, and if not on a console... for butts sake, it is still hitting a disc drive.

To those who think that 16 GB is the peak of any mountain, i mean games, and 8 GB is still good for 99% of the games.... it obviously is fair priced, as they get a competitive product with half the RAM. Apple got the same opinion already, and yes... their phones and laptops has been sold like nothing else. Their buyers seems to value honest hardware that is not a bit above the minimum-requirement... so it "can run", no questions asked. Everything above the minimum is a glutton-syndrome, with the exception of the coins someone got... those coins can never be enough. No rule without exception... indeed.

Again, in my country, we have a loan scale called "jan modaal"

Jan Modaal is a fictional person. A fictional resident of the Netherlands with the most common income. In other words, the average income. Then why don't we just call it the average income? Good question. There are numerous definitions online. And there are also many different amounts. Including and excluding holiday pay. Sometimes the average income is explained as "the mode". You know, those from the mathes.

in 2010 for example this was 32.500 annual income without all the taxes and pension deducted
in 2025 this number is 46.500 euros
Hmmm? Ah yes they got a bit above 40% increased income after 15 years, but during this timeline the living expenses was most likely going up way above 50%... sometimes as high as 100%. So the reality is... the "average" has been robbed by inflation, because the higher salary is not able to "keep up".

Usually they use the "median-value", so they can get ride of the multi-millionaires or even billionaires. If we throw the wealthiest into the same pot, the average would become way higher.

Usually i do not use the word "average"; because it is pretty much a class-related issue and we will have to focus on those classes in order to get the most truthful maths. Reality is, humans are not equal, so any maths will have to consider this issue.

Sure, we already know how it works with the classes: GOG users for example are "lower middle class or second class". Steam is somewhat middle class or a bit above second class. No customer is actually first class... for this to happen we may have to "stand up" for our rights way more.

Somehow funny... indeed true. The newest generation is simply a "fake frame generation". The rasterization is barely higher and if so... mostly not because of higher efficiency; reason why the 5090 need a good amount more power in order to achieve perhaps 40-60% more rasterization-FPS over the 4090. The improvement on efficiency is probably less than 20%... we will see.

Yes, the AI cores with at least 1000 TOPS on the top 3 models (no clue about AMD, they kinda lost their voice... all i know is that the PS5 Pro-NPU =AI got around 300 TOPS, and the mobile APUs got 50 TOPS), can in theory provide a even better native experience. The only issue is... the overall performance will decrease even more... because in such a case the AI is used for improving the QUALITY, not the QUANTITY. However... in such a case, even the flagship will need to squeeze every bit of power it can spare. Else... if we go the QUANTITY path, then almost any GPU may do well in many/most terms, but this is not necessarily the demand a connoisseur of graphics AND performance got in mind. The important thing is not to have any serious "compromise", yet... this is the most difficult thing, not only in relationships, even on GPUs.
