DaCostaBR: I'll highjack this thread a bit and ask:
What are some good magic systems in games? That is more than just selecting an item in a menu or a gun that shoots beams instead of bullets. Lichdom made you feel very powerful, but it was pretty much a regular FPS, and the gameplay loop wasn't all that fun.
Magicka was very interesting, but it was balanced with co-op in mind, which makes playing it whenever more of a hassle.
amok: Two Worlds II with its card based magic system
Magicka I and II with the multitude of combinations
Magicka (I haven't played the second one) is actually really bad game. Controls are awful, graphics are dated, gameplay is clunky at best, I didn't liked the humor and in fact I don't really think humor is good at all.
Nine parchments has smoooth controls, it's twin stick shooter with magic, nice graphics, can be played on low end computers, humor is OK, more like commentary, but better than Magicka 1, magic is nice, gameplay is addicting.
Despite people saying it's Magicka rippoff, it's not. I played both Magicka 1 and Nine Parchments and not every game with magic system is copy of Magicka.
But Mages of Mystralia is veeeery nice. It's my top pick.
