Greetings

Does anyone remember what game had the first water reflection?

Examples:
Outcast (1999) https://images-4.gog.com/3c2a4003bb46fef681d77edcf4cd4359ae7214f79f9d448ee5d7bbdf916ee79e.jpg

Morrowind (2002) Gold (2003)

Thank you
I am very interested in the computer graphics growth through ages
What was done first, etc etc

Pretty sure that the skybox reflecting in the water is just a trick and not a "real" reflection. The oldest game I can think of with actual reflections in a few places is Unreal I think

EDIT: well actually its all just faked with geometry doubled or additional cameras rendered in most cases. ;)

What about mirrors?

One of the early Comanche Maximum Overkill (helicopter) games had reflections in the water that I thought was pretty cool. This was using "voxels" at the time.

True. But only reflected the sky.

Duke 3D? I think they actually had the room doubled (mirrored) on the other side and a Duke character moving with the player.

Terra Nova (1996) had terrain reflection.

Earliest one I can think of, that doesn't just reflect the sky or something, would be Magic Carpet.

Please note that early effects of this kind had nothing to do with shaders. Programmable shaders weren't introduced until what, DirectX 8? Even Outcast's awesome water effects were a complete software solution (as the game didn't originally even support hardware acceleration).
Water reflection is not uncommon in 2D age.
For example, Quest for Glory (1989) already have animated water reflection, 100% accurate follow the movement of our hero.

Some early 2D platformers also have simple water reflection.

I am trying to find early example for 3D games, and will paste the result here.
Comanche: Maximum Overkill (1992)
The game use Voxel Space 3D engine, and already have true water reflection.

Airheart (1986), isometric 2D/3D game with water reflection:

Besides Magic Carpet mentioned by F4LL0UT,
I did not found earlier polygon based 3d games that have water reflection.
Do you mean true reflections, or fakes like what Deus Ex does with mirrors by placing another player model in a fake little box?

It does not seem to reflect the terrain, only the sky and some sprites. Furthermore, I *think* the reflections were only added in the CD-ROM version which was released in 1994, the same year Magic Carpet came out.
