It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Once in in while I'm running into a weird "problem", where I'm asked to enter a special security code, because I've presumably signed in from a diffrent machine, device, browser, ... even though this is not the case at all! What could this be? Windows updates, that make my old PC a "new" one? This idea came to me only recently, and I would have to verify if there's really a correlation between Windos updates and this said "problem".

Cheers
Sebastian

Only thing I can think of is if you delete cookies/cache/etc. on a regular basis. Two-step happens when you do that.
When you clear your browser temp stuff (cookies/cache and whatnot), GOG.com sends you a 2FA token via e-mail to secure your new authentication to the site.

Nothing strange or weird here. In fact, yesterday I did my cleaning/backup duties and I was welcomed by the same "insert code" request as well...
As people already said, probably a cache/cookies/browser data issue. I rarely clear those data and I'm indeed asked to insert a code on every device only the first time.
Check if you don't have some software performing automatic cleanup of said data. It could also be some OS security setting.

As some people have already said, you're probably clearing your cookies on browser exit, however the 2FA will only trigger once it notices you have no cookies and your external IP address has changed. Since you can't really control your external IP address with most ISPs (it's usually dynamic), one option would be to keep or write an exception rule for the cookies you receive from https://login.gog.com .

I do indeed delete cookies/cache/etc. every now and then. This would also explain, why it hapens only sometimes. Cool. This might be the solution already.

Now, there's a "mark as solution" button here but, since pretty much every post contains that solution, would it be OK to mark every post? I don't want anybody to feel "left out" ;)
You can only mark one post as the solution. Could organize a Battle Royale style deathmatch ... or just flip a coin. Less legal work involved with the latter.

Less fun too... I propose a deathmatch in a warehouse in West Virginia. I think I know just the place.
That also happens after some browser updates, especially on Linux.

Regarding solution, I usually pick the first one.

Are you paying for transit because I can't.
Sorry, no fancy death match stuff :). I'm a little conservative, I guess, so I'll go for "first come, first served". Lucky winner today: Crackpot.756 :) Congratiulations and thank you!

Thanks everybody else too, of course ;)

I'd be lying if I said I'm not disappointed. Otoh, I would've lost.

Thank you kindly, have a good day.
