the download speeds do not reach maximum potential, i would like to know how to fix that,
i have 60MB/s internet speed and it only downloads at 15-25MB/s , not a lot for the internet i have.

(and yes i am talking about the big Bs not b)

Overload somewhere throttling the speeds for everyone, is my guess. You are still left with decent speed but of course it will be felt with huge game downloads.

Reminiscing about that, then, new 2400 baud modem that was so much faster than the old one.

I am luckier as I get 93% of my maximum speed right now.

25 mb a second when you are downloading files is huge man, if your over all speed is 60mb and when you download you get 25mbs a second you are doing really good.

I have a 100mb per second internet speed and when I download games i get like 12mbs worth of files a second max

Lucky me - such "bottlenecks" will never affect me.

My ISP just upgraded my connection (2 weeks ago) from 30mbit (approx. 3,5MB/s) to 50mbit (approx 6MB/s).
I don't even know what to do with all those bandwidth :-)

You sure you do not have 100Mbit/s and get 12.5MByte/s? Those numbers are the same as there are eight bits in a byte so 8*12.5=100.

Yes I am sure it is 100mb/s but when I download a game... say over watch i generally get about 12mbs of the game files downloaded a second.

Dude how can you whine about slow download speeds you wanna try ADSL that I had a while back 0.5mbps don't you whine when you are getting 25MB/s what the... Dude MOST people don't even get that.

Also there is a global pandemic going on which means alot of users are working at home or staying home and they are online alot more so that could lead to slow downloads.

Pffft. Just a year ago I was doing fine with a 10Mbit/s connection, yours is 6x faster than that. I had even downloaded my whole GOG game collection through that connection. All it takes is time, and I have plenty of time. What do I have anyway, besides time? My testicles.

Admittedly, recently I upgraded to a 400Mbit/s connection, but I don't reach even near the max that often, especially if I am connected through wifi. Buuut, I am fine if I get to download something at 100-200Mbit/s.
