It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Last night, after installed System Shock EE, the game didn't recognize my mouse, even though, to my perplexity, when I opened the overlay it worked perfectly.

Some weeks ago something similar happened when I installed Braid, but instead of not recognizing my mouse it was the keyboard.

In that occasion I wasted too much time trying to figure it what was going on until I decided to use the offline installer.

Thanks to that bitter and annoying experience after uninstalling/reinstalling it one time and suffering the same issue, I decided to use offline installer immediately, and worked like a charm.

Since these annoying events have nothing to do with my hardware, and more likely neither the game software itself, I'm quite sure it has to do with Galaxy requirement to have windows 8 or newer to use it, and due to Galaxy was mandatory updated to this new version, some time ago, and it can't be reversed, I suppose crap like this its going to happen again in the future.

I can't believe whoever came with this "brilliant" idea to force me to upgrade my windows in order to use Gog OPTIONAL client, when not even Steam or Epic did such dick move.

At first I though people was overreacting with their opinions about galaxy, but now I'm starting to think they are right and if this debacle continues, I'm going to stop buying games in this place.

YOU DON'T HAVE ANY RIGHT TO PRESSURE ME TO UPGRADE MY SOFTWARE.
I WILL DO IT WHEN I FEEL LIKE DOING IT!!!!!
Just uninstall the galaxy client, and use the normal offline installers from now on.
You don't need galaxy to play your games. ( :

Nope, try again...Steam has removed support for older versions of Windows more than once (and forces the client to update anyway, so you're completely screwed). It's just a matter of time before they stop supporting Windows 7. At least you have the option of not using the client and can download the offline installers instead, which Steam does not have.

i do have that right , you dont have the right to qq here
just get win10
I agree that you should not be pressured to upgrade to Windows 10. If you decide to, at least currently, you may Upgrade to Windows 10 For Free. If you decide to, you may, if you wish, disable some of the features of Windows 10 that so many others do not want and that apparently serve to lessen ones privacy with OOSU10 and OOAPB. Both are free programs. Using a simple key word search should help you find some other tutorials on YouTube to make some other privacy improvements and Windows 10 performance increases.

I may understand how you feel, as I was a Windows 7 user who never wanted to change. Whatever you decide to do is no ones business but your own. Because. as I mentioned, you should not feel as if you are being coerced unwillingly to make any changes. My purpose here is simply to make you aware that you have some sound, viable options. If you have questions in the future just message me. I currently may receive messages from anyone.
I'm not too sure I see the connection between the problems you mentioned and Galaxy, but I absolutely need the client to work on Win7.
If Gog isn't going to support the old system, at least they should let us remain on compatible Galaxy versions! I just need it for achievements, that's it.

Afaik not completely. And the OS is the one instance you need to trust when it comes to computers.

Apart from the spying - MS has axed QA to a point where serious bugs like deleting all the user's data on update went through not only once, despite alarm calls from the beta ring. Win 10 is a broken mess. I know, I have to work with it every day. So with Windows it's currently a choice between an outdated version, or a broken spyware version - both have their risks and it's every user's choice to make.
I have Windows 7 and use Galaxy no problem.
