I completed it, the only issue being how long it takes if you try to answer honestly (which I recommend everyone do).
I have to be honest, I haven't really bought a Square title since...I bought Final Fantasy 9 on the Vita. Dragon Quest builders was tempting, but not 40 dollars tempting.
Done, told them I basically haven't played any new games, and that I only shop on GOG.com. Didn't bother to enter the contest seeing as I don't have a Square Enix account.

fronzelneekburm: I'm in the middle of the survey and I feel like such a dinosaur. Sure, I can beg them for moar gog plz all I like, but it's painfully obvious from the survey that I'm clearly not their target audience. It's a brutal clash of cultures: my still-stuck-in-the-mid-90s gaming sensibilities VS that thing that gaming has become since then. Most of the questions do offer one or two answers that seem to cater to my sensibilities, but then I get a question like the one in the attachment and all I can say is "I'm getting too old for this shit"

The games industry truly is in a dark place right now...
So. Much. This.

I feel like a dinosaur for another reason. I'm aware of all the games, but of the ones they've listed, I've only played Civ IV and Minecraft. Any new games I've played have all been from indie devs.
Done. I emphasized that they need to stop sitting on some of their older franchises and give us proper remasters/new iterations. :|
My additional feedback: "Experiment more. Take risks. Have faith that your western markets will be receptive to things that may appear niche."

MacArthur: Instead of endlessly complaining on here, this is a good opportunity for us to send a clear message to squeenix by doing their 2018 survey :

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SQUARECRO

Interestingly, this year GOG is a selectionnable option among retailer. Beware though, later in the survey, it appears under Third party retailer.

If, for once, Squeenix is willing to listen, then send them your word loud and clear, goggers !
What, we don't have enough single-player games with microtransactions? o.O

And everything else in this world.
I'm already stuck with a question about the 4th question: "Which of the following platforms do you currently play video games on at least monthly?"

Should I choose GOG.com as I mostly play games bought from GOG.com

or should I NOT choose GOG.com as I don't use the PLATFORM Galaxy but play standalone games instead?

SirPrimalform: It didn't mention Galaxy for me so I'm not sure why that's relevant. GOG.com is GOG.com whether you use Galaxy or not.
avatar
Lemon_Curry: It is because they're asking you on which of the platforms you currently play video games at least monthly – and because there's an option simply called 'PC (excluding Steam)'.
That's how I read it. I buy games on gOg. I play them on a PC with no client-platform software.

You'll have opportunities, later in the survey, where you can enter your own info.

Alexim: "13. Which of the following companies do you trust to consistently build high quality games. Please rank up to five. (1st most trustworthy, 2nd most trustworthy, etc.)"

None of them is trustworthy, what should I do?
Select none, the answer is skippable.
Just to weigh in on that bit, quite sure that in Q4 by GOG.com they mean specifically Galaxy. If you don't use Galaxy, then it's "PC (excluding Steam)", because you see you have Steam, Blizzard Launcher, Epic Launcher, Origin, U-Play or Riot Games Launcher there. So all of those, the mislabeled GOG.com one included, are clients, while the PC option is for clientless gaming.
I came across a reason that would make DRM palpable in question 29: if it were a means to make the game resellable: delete the game from your Steam/UPlay/Origin account and sell it to someone else if you don't like the game, just like I do with physical console games I don't like.
