The Fall of the Dungeon Guardians seems to run on Linux without steam, but it does complain about missing a unity3d package* and it can't load the steam plugins**. But it runs horrible without steam.

*The Fall of the Dungeon Guardians_Data/data.unity3d
**ScreenSelector.so
libCSteamworks.so
libsteam_api.so

After a quick test, if you use lutris, and run it from there, it still complain about the above mentioned faults, but it runs almost a bit faster as with steam.

muntdefems: · Expeditions: Conquistador: Works out of the box.
Hmm, I will try to E-Mail them about sending the Linux build to GOG, it's one of those games where the Linux version never made it here.

Update:

I've got a response from the devs and I quote:

Hello,
Thank you very much for your interest, but I'm afraid you may not like my answer.

Unfortunately GOG didn't support Linux when Conquistador was released, and it's not worth the effort to make our Linux version available on there at this point.
The Linux version was also available from Desura back in the day, but regrettably that platform has since become defunct. That's why Steam is now the only option.

Very sorry
Well, a shame I must say. I understand that if the Linux version shows here it won't sell like hot cakes, but we'd have 1 more Linux game in the library.

A few of the Steam games I bought work without Steam. They are Ankh: Heart of Osiris, Broken Sword 4, Demetrios, Lilly Looking Through, Message Quest, Nelly Cootalot and the Fowl Fleet, The Song of Seven Chapter One, The Cave, The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, and The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC. I have more that I will test later.

Thank you for this. Please also state on which OS you have tested those.
I tested these on Windows 10 Home 64-bit. I also found out that The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 also works. When I started it, it said, "You're not connected to Steam. Cloud saves and achievements won't work."
I also tested several demos that worked without Steam. They are The ABC Murders, Herald: An Interactive Period Drama, Kaptain Brawe, Nancy Drew Ransom of the Seven Ships, Nancy Drew Phantom of Venice, Tales, The Book of Unwritten Tales and Ys Origin.
Overcooked works without the Steam client with the Steam_appid trick (with number 448510). Tested on Windows 10.
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD remaster also works without Steam on Windows 10.
Haque was tested on Linux already, now it has been tested on Win7-32. One only must delete steam_api.dll from the game folder, and the game runs fine.

Melissa K. and the Heart of Gold is running fine out of the box on win7/64.
I found a thread on Steam that says Eselmir and the Five Magical Gifts is DRM Free. The developer even confirmed it, and also said that they're planning on bringing the game here to GOG! http://steamcommunity.com/app/677850/discussions/0/1692659135906564738/#c1692659135918735854
Shadow of Mordor GOTY is 85% off on Fanatical for 24h.

I don't suppose it's actually DRM-free (i.e. doesn't need the Steam client to run), is it?
