From time to time, I have enjoyed browsing through free titles on itch.io. And at times such free games, discovered either through browsing or through youtube videos, turn out to be decent or even excellent instances of interactive software.

I am creating this thread to point to a few such games occasionally, and perhaps learn about a few more free games from others.

I Remember the Rain

It is a very short exploration game in pixel-graphics. The gameplay is akin to games that are generally known as “walking simulator”. The game takes around 5 minutes to complete it. The focus is on the story element with decent background score and voice-acting.

Doki Doki Literature Club (pay what you want)

It's a game that is not what it seems. Starts out as a cute dating sim and then takes a dive into sinister and weird.

itch.io often have 100% discount for random games.
