teceem: I can think of many worse places to ask than on the GOG forum (social media? village elders? ....).

Punington: That's a flawed argument. Following that same reasoning, it'd better to seek medical advice at a firefighting station rather than in the local bonsai-lovers society. I kinda get what you're trying to convey here but we should point out that, from a logical perspective, that argumentation doesn't hold water and, in a way, it also validates irresponsibility.
Isn't gaming irresponsible, considering the world is going to hell in a handbasket? lol

If I'm not wrong, you seem to be making a flawed argument.

He never said advice here would be better than a medical professional. And some of us are professionals.

Now, if he said that he only seeks advice from a gaming board, then you'd have an argument.

And to anyone out there reading this -- always work to research and validate any advice you get from anyone... anywhere. Never just accept advice as truth.

Punington: Why would you seek medical advice on a gaming-related forum?
Genuinely interested btw.
Firstly, the corona virus is a public health emergency, and this means the public should be aware of basic safety (which is confirmed and reïnforced by public discourse).

Secondly, your underlying assumption is flawed. Yes, doctors do play games and hence will be members of a gaming community.
Hahaha to update my post, now it appears the new variation does give you runny nose and flu-like symptoms...
I didn't realize I missed such an interesting detour discussion in this topic.
It was fun reading your posts everyone. Thank you for the smiles :)
^necroing his own topic after three years, that's just ... sad.

I'd offer a hug, but ...
Necro. Closing.
