I was under the impression that both CDPR and GoG staff are already working from home for a couple months now, and voluntarily and without being told to do so at that?

Not entirely voluntarily, from what I gathered. IIRC chandra said you can go to the office if you have a good reason to do so. (I asked if they let them work from home during her live stream a few weeks ago)

I would imagine working from home would take a lot of self-discipline, I personally couldn't do it.

It seems to vary from person to person. I have very little self-discipline, but I can work from home just fine. Of course it took some time getting used to it, but honestly I expected it to be harder than what it is. I know some people who just can't seem to work from home at all.
