Do you have to have The Crew base game to use it?

as per looking at the FAQ - i don't think you have too as it states- they give the BETA for free to people who owned any version of the game

I already own the game do I have to sign up?
If you already own a version of The Crew on Uplay PC (Full game, Trial or Beta) the access will automatically be granted to you. Therefore you don't need to register again.
