Turns out the TES IV : Oblivion Remaster is real; someone on Reddit found some images on Virtuos website.
Virtuos is a video game development company.

Coming next week according to leakers.

I doubt we will get a GOG release, but it seems to be coming to Xbox, PC and PlayStation.
Any system requirements for pc mentioned?
Excited for the remaster.
I think it's fake. However if it's real, i don't like the rumor that it uses UE5.

Still think it's fake though, from Elder Scrolls VI we only got this teaser and that was it. Here there isn't even an official teaser yet! So what? are we now getting Oblivion Remaster instead of a new game? that's so lazy!

I've been waiting for The Elder Scrolls VI for years. Heck, i'm more excited about Skyblivion then this remaster!

And one more thing, i'd buy and backup Oblivion right about now if i were you. If this thing turns out to be legit, chances are it might get the Skyrim: SE treatment: Old version hidden on steam and delisted/replaced on GoG without warning.

I'd only consider buying it if they got rid of that stupid monster leveling system.

....
Then they kept this well hidden.

I really hope we'll see a Morrowind Remake (not Remaster) one day.

It would be "crazy" to release it so quickly but well, the game being "old" why make us wait? That's cool but yeah, I don't expect it to be release here before a while.

Not that I know of.

The studio working on the remaster is not the same one working on TES 6.
Regarding the TES 6 teaser, back then, many people were expecting updates at every convention, every year. I think the teaser was just meant to confirm that it was one of their projects and to calm down the hype a bit (lol). For me, it was a mistake; I think they’ve admitted they shouldn’t have done that.

Even thought it is a remastered version I hope they've done something to the problematic aspects of the game like the enemies scaling, the random loot + completely useless dungeons (not to mention they all look the same) and the Oblivion gates And also I am really not a fan of the darker vibes. Oblivion have always been very bright and green(hopefully its the screenshots...)

Just don't pull the original from the store and I'll be a happy camper.
???

I dont get it.

What would be the point ?

If it was Arena or Daggerfall, sure.

But even Morrowind would be a stretch.

Oblivion is what, a bit more than 15 years old ? And there was only ONE successor so far.

I don't think anyone at Bethesda has the Chutzpah to make Morrowind again these days.

Besides, OpenMW is better and compatible with Project Tamriel.
Meh. A faithful remake of Morrowind would be nice. But Oblivion...
Is the game going to use the mechanics of the original Oblivion, or are the mechanics going to be completely redone?

(I've seen remakes/remasters take both approaches, as well as some in-between approaches.)
I welcome the news (assuming it's true) and if it's done right also. Otherwise, it'll just be another wasted opportunity and we've seen plenty of those. =P
